Target To Close All Stores In Canada

There’s some bad news for those of you that may have pre-ordered Amiibo in store at Target Canada as the retailer has announced that it is closing all 133 stores in Canada. The move was blamed on poor supply chain management decisions and also a bad pricing strategy. I’m not sure when they’re closing, but you’ve got to feel sorry for all those staff that are facing redundancy.

Thanks, Eric

        1. Aren’t they extinct anyway?

Well, you *could* try to make connections with the Federation- they’ve not once, but twice, tried to artificially reproduce Metroids on their own…

            I don’t make connections with enemy cattle…

The Ing shall soon rise again and we already have Metroid DNA in our possession…

            1. Oh yeah, I forgot about those dark metroids…

Haven’t played Prime 2 in years. I have the trilogy on Wii but I want to finish Prime 1 before jumping back into Echoes…

  1. Walmart is the main reason they are closing. Target just cannot compete. Where I live there is only one Target in a 300 mile radius, and about 30 Walmarts. Capitalism has only one inevitable conclusion. One maybe two companies owning everything.

    1. Kmart is the store that I’m surprised hasn’t closed out because of Wal-Mart. Kmart always sucked compared to Wal-Mart.

    2. Actually I think target deserves just about all the change for their demise. They often had empty shelves and didn’t restock. They also don’t have a proper website. It’s 2015 and they still don’t show what products they have in store. If you want to find out if they have a certain product you’d have to either call them or go in person.

They messed everything up themselves, for then to blame anybody but themselves would be like Ubisoft blaming Wii U owners for watch dogs not selling well.

      1. Wal-Mart is the same way. Their site never shows what’s actually in stores. At least, for several products.

  2. Well, that’s what happens when you don’t run your company effectively. Oh well, we got Target here in the U.S still. It’s a great store.

  3. Thank you for your sympathy. We found out our store was closing when we turned on the radio before emptying the truck to stock our (admittedly empty) shelves. We will be around for a few weeks and I would like to ask that people show a little respect for the employees involved. Feel free to look for deals but have a little courtesy towards the people who are now working 8-12 hours a week to shutter a store that they were hoping would provide for their families for years to come. Thanks again!

  4. Preorders weren’t allowed for Amiibos, and their online website didn’t even allow for preordering or ordering at all. A confusing mess that was. Target really came too early in Canada, without brand recognition, and didn’t renovate properly, over what they took over (Zellers). I will miss it a bit, but won’t cry over it.

Oh I knew I was forgetting something! I was supposed to send a batch of Metroids to Targets in Canada to weed out the idiots in charge of them! Oh well!
