      1. Sakurai seems like he is really done this time around. He has made it pretty clear DLC would require extra work and he has also made it pretty clear he is totally burnt out from working on Smash Bros.

  1. I believe these were initially intended to be in the main game, but ran out of time. I always wondered why there were only a few 8 player stages. It all makes sense now.

    1. yes he does. I just played the 8 player version of the map right now. Although I was only playing by myself and a bot. He still showed up

  2. If only my gamestop could stock a few Wii U Pro Controllers, that’d be GREAT! I have a giftcard worth ~600 NOK, that’s about $100. But as they apparently won’t stock any controllers, I can’t buy any new ones.

Also, one of my pro controllers might be faulty. Games seem to believe that I constantly presses the right joystick up. In MH3U, this results in the camera being stuck in a fucked angle. In Smash, the character I’m playing constantly uses his/hers up smash attack. It’s really annoying, and I hope I won’t have to buy a new controller…

    1. Pro Controllers are scarce here in Upstate NY. The day I went to buy one I walked out of GameStop, Walmart and Target empty handed. Then I remembered Best Buy still exists and even though I avoid that place I took a chance and lucked out. Seems Best Buy was good for something once. LOL

      1. Well, living in northern Norway, GameStop is one of my only options if I’m going to get it at a retail, and I really don’t want to use those GameStop giftcards on games I won’t play…

      1. I live in Norway, GameStop doesn’t ship stuff here (do they in the US?!). I can, of course, find them in other online stores, but I really wanted to use those gift cards on GameStop, instead of buying games I won’t have the time to play…

    2. Are you touching the control sticks while the game started loading? When the game is starting up, the sticks are calibrated so they work properly. Moving the stick will have it calibrated in an untouched position and will cause the controls to be messed up. Try reconnecting the controller and see if it works.

      1. I thought that could have been the problem, but this have happened in multiple playing sessions, and only with that one controller. But sure, I’ll try to re-charge it, and then re-connect it. Hopefully, it’s not broken!

  3. I always thought 8 player Smash was just a crazy idea. It’s just absolute chaos. I never go to that mode. I hate that they turn those battles on in Classic Mode…

    1. I thought it was funny at first, but after playing it several times, I ended up hating it. Like you said, it’s absolute chaos. So much so, most the time I can’t even tell where the hell my player is because there is just too much happening on the screen.

I play on 55″ and it still gives me trouble finding my player sometimes.

Most will hate me for saying this, but I’ve become really bored of Smash Bros. lately. I don’t use the stage builder at all, I don’t like tour mode, the mini games get real boring and 8 player smash is just for the kicks. Just seems like so much wasted potential in the Wii U version that could’ve been applied to a story mode or better modes in general. Yea there’s technically a lot of content but most of it seems like a last minute filler that doesn’t add much value to the overall experience of the game in my opinion.

Pretty much the only thing I do is online matches and look for trophies, while looking for trophies gets super repetitive and boring so fast too. Since you pretty much do the same thing over and over again just with a different character, but it’s the only other thing to do really for me.

Just my view. So no one needs to get butthurt over it.

      1. Yeah, that’s exactly how I feel. I don’t bother with the stage builder at all. I do enjoy playing this Smash Bros but it’s just kind of boring me. I think it might be because of the 3DS version. I’ve played that so many times before I got the Wii U version. And while it is better than the 3DS version, it only really feels like a slight upgrade from Brawl. I don’t even care about the Smash Tour. I tried it and it’s not really that great. Smash Run is way more enjoyable imo. And the other new stuff like Master Order, Crazy Order, etc. Eh… Only mode I really bother with is Smash. I do occasionally check in with the Vault and buy trophies but most of the time it’s just regular smash. *sigh*

        1. Yep, took the words out of my mouth. It just feels like a slight upgrade. A shame Smash Run wasn’t included with online in the Wii U version, that alone would have been much better than what it currently offers, at least to me. I’d probably play that mode a lot honestly if it had online.

I didn’t think much of Smash Run at first, but it is a good breather from monotonous matches over and over again. Pretty fun.

I still have no idea why they decided to incorporate Mario Party into Smash Bros. with the tour mode. Such a random idea coming from Smash Run on 3DS.

          1. that’s because you guys are casuals, from a competitive point of view this game is a huge upgrade from brawl

      2. Oh good, I’m not the only person who feels this way. Yeah, this Smash is fun, but it felt like a step *backwards* in some areas.

I tried Smash Tour once and I was immediately turned off by it; I’ll only ever play it to get the related challenges and that’s with friends so they’ll help me do it. Even Smash Run on 3DS was better but I got bored of it fast. The minigames this time around were bland.

AND THAT FUCKING GUST BELLOWS! Who on the development team thought including that as an item was a good idea!?

  5. They already said after mewtwo it will not be no more dlc that’s to much work for them and Sakurai already said he not doing no more updates character wise so that tell’s you it will not be no more new characters stop trying to over work this man with this bs dlc hope about banning dlc because it’s ruining video games

  6. Besides mewtwo ..Dixie Kong and Lucas are gonna be revealed in the video of mewtwo
Where mewtwo seems to be flying and he spots Dixie and Lucas getting attacked by king de,ganon and wario
    Mewtwo goes to rescue them
Then they show parts of how Dixie and lucas are gonna work in the game

  7. I didn’t even know they were working on that! Makes me happy, hopefully Classic Mode will make use of those stages for the big battles as well.
