The Rosalina and Luma amiibo figure has been hot property since day one, but news of a leaked document yesterday circulated fears that she wouldn’t be available in the future either. Unfortunately, Target has confirmed yesterday’s rumour rendering the exclusive Rosalina and Luma amiibo out of stock, with no other shipments due into the store.
According to a Target employee, the document – verified by Destructoid – was part of an internal newsletter from the company and detailed which amiibo products would no longer be restocked. It’s not yet known whether Sheik will be found in store either, since shipments have been very limited, too. The company does state that Bowser and Toon Link will be restocked continually. All this Amiibo nonsense makes me glad that I made the decision to never buy any. Cool concept, horrible execution.
I agree. Stopped supporting them after the whole hysteria surrounding the figures got out of hand. Only have about four of them, and the last one I’m getting is Mega Man. After that, I’m officially done with amiibos.
And I was looking forward to preordering Lucina and Pac-Man.
I actually bought into it, all the way. I even got every single wave one Amibo, including Marth. Then, the dreaded sexond wave. The second wave is where I lost interest because I couldn’t find them.
I still have Shulk and Ike on pre-order though. ;) I just came to the conclusion I will not own them all.

I have 20 Sheik Amiibos. I sold one on eBay. After reading this, I think I will cancel my eBay sales until the price increases dramatically.

dude I called my local target asking for captain falcon/fox but after the lady on the phone told me they were out she said she had 1 more rosalina left. Don’t know why she offered it to me; I didn’t ask about Rosalina cuss I knew they weren’t gonna carry her after all this hype (also, their website said they were out). I was so happy yay!

It doesn’t matter. It’s not going to be there. Amiibo is just a waste of my time. I remember back when wave two released and I was at a Target that day at exactly 8 AM and there was only one Little Mac and 2 Zeldas. Those were the only ones I’ve seen of wave two and I NEVER saw them again. -_-
I might just give up, I got all of wave 2 and all, but villager in wave 1 and bowser. I’d hate to stop a fairly big collection, but no way am I dishing out 50+ dollars on rosa.
I got Rosalina but this is absolutly stupid. They didn’t even stock that many. One lady bought 3 Rosalinas at the store I went to. They didn’t even have Sheik.
I have Sheik preordered on toysrus.com but that means pretty much nothing. They cancelled my captain falcon so they will probably do the same with sheik and lucario.

Good thing I managed to get one yesterday. The employee told me something you guys might want to know. This is all a scheme. They don’t have limited supply. They are purposely sending out few to attract attention. On May 29th, all amiibo that were held are going to be released to the masses. Don’t bother with eBay. They are all coming back. And with the new rewards system by Nintendo, there are going to be exclusive amiibo on that site only. There will be a wave 5, shortly after E3. Here’s the kicker: Amiibo will get its own game, but details have not been announced.

Ultra isn’t lying, Nintendo plans to release an Amiibo exclusive game like Infinity.
And they also have stated all Amiibo could see a re-release, albeit in slightly new updated packaging.
Thus the originals unopened will still retain collector value.. but everyone can have a Marth or a Villager in the future.

I drive an hour to get one. They’re out if stock everywhere. People were camped out two hours before the store opened in 30degree weather.
Yeah… I got to Target early yesterday and managed to snag the last Rosalina. I was the second person to get there, but when it was time to form a line at the electronics service desk, people inserted themselves into the middle of the line so everyone behind didn’t get one. Luckily all but about two people got one.
As for Sheik, they told me they had her but I was too out of it to actually ask for one. They didn’t have any Toon Links, oddly.
I was actually a bit freaked out to see other people there just for Rosalina, honestly. I thought maybe a another person or two would show up, but there was quite a crowd. In all they had about 12 Rosalinas in stock, with 3 of those simply being pre orders. Again, quite lucky, and I wish luck to anyone else looking for one.
I checked ebay last night, and one dude has 10 Rosalina amiibo at $50 each. Makes me sick…
Regarding my last comment on the other Rosalina amiibo post, I went to my local Target and got two of them. Nobody was there to snag them all.
I don´t give a shit about collecting them or if they will become rare or not. I try to get the ones I like. If I can get them, fine, if not, so what. This far I own 6 amiibos and I preordered the full Super Mario Collection set. I love the amiibos. I will keep buying them from time to time, next on my list are Wario and Ness but if they will be sold out before I was able to buy them….Congratulations to the peeps who have been faster or more lucky. I woke up early yesterday and went to 2 different targets by my house shortly after they opened they had NO wave 3 and no rosalina. I was shocked because I figure they’d have plenty since its exclusive to their store. But nope. So I’m done.
I’m over it.
I won’t bother collecting anymore. It’s way to much of a hassle. Not worth my time. I’m happy with my Samus Fox Link Villager amiibos.

See, I still don’t know if I believe that memo because it said no Wave 3b will have in-store availability. Yet, today when I picked up 2 more Rosalina, I saw tags for them all: Sonic, Mega Man, King Dedede, Ike. Who knows what’s coming.
I’m so glad that I happened to get at least one Rosalina before Target sold out. Wish I could have got two though. Nintendo has screwed up SO bad with the amiibos. Making some of them store exclusives was one of those mistakes. I can’t understand why Nintendo isn’t fixing this situation and producing more of every amiibo? Sometimes I just don’t understand the way Nintendo does things.

They’ll change their minds in 3.9 days later when they realize their stock and shipping info is ass and retract their 100th misleading details.
I’ve combined forces with an out-of-state friend to get them all. It helps having someone in a completely different state looking out for the harder to find ones. She’s holding a Wii Fit Trainer for me, Marth is coming out again, and I just have Villager, Meta Knight and Lucario to find. My Target never even got them, but I was fortunate enough to get on Target.com when they had them up for an hour or less. My friend managed to get two by going to two different locations, she’s holding onto it JUST in case Target.com messed up. Honestly, get a friend that you can trust to help you that can cover stores you can’t if you want them all. Pre-ordering from GameStop is the best way to go, if you hate the store then get over it if you want Amiibo! I’ve had no issues getting my Amiibo so far from them.
Eh…I wont miss her. Don’t even have a single Target in this entire “state” so I’ll miss out but I’m over it. Honestly I’m tired of this whole amiibo fiasco. I only have one of each amiibo I’ve bought because I genuinely liked them…after I get a Lucina and Robin amiibo, I’m done with all of this.

First they dropped the ball with 3DS, then Wii U, & now with amiibo. The only thing that they rectified was the 3DS as it’s now a selling titan of this generation. Tsk, tsk. I hope they are in the process of finding someone to replace Iwata if he can’t pull Nintendo out of this hole in the next few years.
