Possibly some bad news for those of you who are still clamouring for the Rosalina and Luma Amiibo. Kurosaki-san who is reportedly a Target employee over at Cheap Ass Gamer says that the popular Amiibo won’t be restocked. This is just a rumour at present, but Nintendo has previously said that certain Amiibo will eventually be discontinued.

Same here. I’ve already got the Mega Man amiibo preordered and once I get him, I’m officially done with amiibos. I’ve had enough. And I was looking forward to the Lucina and Pac-Man amiibos too.

Kinda glad I haven’t gotten any of them yet at this rate, since the ones here in the Smash series are numbered, I’d feel the need to get them all and that’s proving to be a rather difficult prospect

I just gave up on collecting this crap. I called my locks Target at 9AM (They open at 8AM) and I was told they were all sold out, there was a pretty crowded line outside before the opening to buy them.
Fuck you Nintendo for not producing enough of these. If Nintendo were smart at all there would be more since scalpers are now getting rich by overpricing these amiibo.

This letter may be true for this particular store, but I wouldn’t expect it to be true for all stores. The Rosalina part may be true unfortunately.
I think King Deedle is confirmed as character DLC for Smash now! He’s even got his own amiibo already xD
Anybody even really care anymore about amiibos..? I’m sick of what Nintendo’s doing. Began with amiibos and their limited quanitty and all this chaos, store exclusves, etc. Then there’s the Gamecube adapter, which was sold out everywhere and I couldn’t find one only a couple hours after it came out…then there’s the limited edition New 3DS XL’s. And to say limited edition used to last at least 3 months. Until Nintendo goes back and restocks what they’re supposed to, I don’t care anymore. As for the New 3DS XL, I guess I’ll get myself a nice, simple coloured one. Maybe red. Who needs to show off pictures. Just a a nice, sleek, one coloure device, like the rest of my stuff.

They’re called limited editions for a reason. They are an item made to sell with no overhead. They typically guarantee a certain number of units are sold. It’s a business game, and whereas making customers happy is conducive to business success, it is by no means required. The scalpers are the problem. Although, I see no good reason to not stock Amiibo. That’s just Nintendo not knowing a damn thing about the toy business.
I know what the purpose for limited items are, but shit, it’s completely ridiculous that people like me just found out about the New 3DS XLs after we had stuff to do on that same day, and it’s gone. They could have restocked for at least a month..not even a week.

Yeah…I frustrated myself about not being able to grasp that Majora’s Mask 3DS or MH 3DS…i was even crazy enough for a bit to consider buying those expensive ones off Ebay. I’m done now. If Nintendo’s gonna play like this, sorry bud, I got more important and productive stuff I could get with with a big price. Like I said, I might end up getting a regular, simple New 3DS XL down the road. Heh. With a limited edition, I believe I would try to take care of it too much to enjoy games anyway.
Thank you, I couldn’t agree with you more. I WANTED Rosalina, and when I got serious about collecting these things. I decided to be on top of my game. Through Target’s website, I’ve known since mid DECEMBER that Target planned on releasing Rosalina on Feb 1st. So, on Jan 31st, I called Target and learned that the one I was going to would have 24 Rosalinas. I was there 20 minutes early, and was first out of 15 in line. So, when I read someone say they woke up at 9 when ALL Targets on earth open at 8, either you didn’t want it, or you expected everyone to wait until you felt like moving your butt. Amiibo, shoes, concert tickets, a job opportunity, If you really want something, be on your game, and save your crying. Just don’t be surprised, because the shortage has been apparent long enough not to hear an excuse by this point. Sorry
Yup. I’m used to stuff like this, getting up early and waiting, just when a console releases. Yea it sucks how limited they are but you should have known by now that would be the case. I got Rosalina and wasn’t even planning on getting her till like a week ago. If you’ve been waiting months and didn’t get her that’s on you. My friend I met on the early toon link release was with me, and his friend at another target and her dad at a third target for release. We all got one. If you couldn’t be up have a friend or family member go for you.

Having them “in the back” doesn’t really disprove anything. When something is ordered online, the stock that is ordered is usually kept in store. So the fact that they are in the back of the store doesn’t mean they will be stocked on the shelves.
If you order something from Walmart/Target online, they pull the item you ordered from their stock in the back of the store.
Not typically. They have warehouses for those things. Not to mention the representative I spoke with said they would be released on a certain date, and it wouldn’t make sense that he wouldn’t mention that they were online only. There’s no reason to omit that. Not to mention the King Deedle typo. This is exactly what the article says: a rumor. Not to mention the DPC numbers aren’t formatted in the typical Target fashion.
Yea, your probably right about the article being inaccurate. However I am not sure Walmart or Target has an “online warehouse”. I was always under the impression that items you order online come directly from the main stores inventory.
I got Sheik, no problems. For some reason no one in front of me in the line grabbed Sheik luckily. Most people wanted Toon Link and Rosalina. They had no word on Ike at the store I went to and no release date either, but said he’s likely to release sometime this month.
Sad thing is the the employee straight up told me “You’ll know before I do” which a chuckle.. I was like yea, it’s ridiculous… You can thank Nintendo for that. The fact they aren’t giving any specific dates doesn’t make these any smoother of a situation.
Really varies from store to store. Some say one thing, while another says something else.
They just pop up randomly on time, earlier than they were supposed to be or later. So it makes it very hard to keep track of anything. Only 6 more to go and I’m done. Well unless, like I’ve said they release a Zero Suit Samus, then I’ll have to suffer some more for that.

Well, I had a gamestop employee tell me, that he and some other employees were buying the rare Amiibos before they could be stocked on the shelves. I am sure this is a wide spread problem happening in other stores as well. And i’m sure it’s one of the reasons I never could find a wave two Amiibo until recently.
I got so mad after the employee told me that I wanted to turn him in to the manager… Funny thing though…. He was the manager!
I can see them doing zero suit. They originally said all smash fighters would get one. Hopefully clones too like dr.mario. Maybe even a Mii amiibo lol(highly doubt that one)

I went to Target around 7:30 today and waited until opening with about 15 others. Formed a single file line and got our Rosalinas. About 3 latecomers didn’t though, as the store ran out. You have to be quick about these things if you really like them.
The Toyota Corolla is a hot seller too. Toyota retailers opens from 10am to 10pm and even the latest consumer can go home with his new Corolla.

Got two Rosalina Amiibo. Just need Robin, Lucina, King Deedle, Palutena, and Mewtwo… (If they ever make one…) I actually asked my local Target when they would be getting more any they told me they weren’t. They were given a stock of 10 with instructions of no more than 1 character per household and 2 Amiibos per person.
when Kia released the Optima couldn’t meet they moved it to be build in the States frreing up more supply and demand so consumers could get what they want and the workers building the products have to now build Sorento and Optima in the States. Nintemdo what just cut back on demand and not trying to meet it. Because of Kia Mototr’s strategic thinking, Kia can sell over 100k Optimas a year. Where as Nintendo, a person can never know really how Amiibos really sell on its own when they are understocked. Just like being understocked on Gamecube adapter. Kia Motors or Toyota don’t go understocked. Toyota knows how to meet demand on the Camry that sells millions a year.

Nintendo this is just terrible, just cut back on the number you release per wave. so that you can make enough for people. put limits on certain ones so that scalpers are no longer a problem.
Guess what, Kia Motors has broken ground to build a new plant to better meet demand. If it was Nintendo they wouldn’t meet demand they would just let it sell out and have to make more and pause demand (please understand). Kia has a new AWD systemd called e-AWD. So a motor is supposed to handle the back to build better mpg. Kia’s new Sportage and next generation Soul are rumoured to have that new technology. It’s nice to know at least one of my favorite companies know how to use R&D futuristically. Kia knows Suburu has the highest mpgs for AWD. So Kia is thinking what Suburu’s mpg could be like 3-5 years from now. They aren’t thinking of the 2015 Suburu Forester and just make their 2017 Sportage mpg greater and 10 horsepower more than the 2015 rivals. Kia knows there is a 2019 redesigned Escape in Ford’s R&D and they have to compete with that. I wonder how the Fusion will hold up against the PS5 I mean PS4. We know Nintendo’s Fusion isn’t going to be as powerful as the PS5 currently in Sony’s R&D.
Hyundai has a all new Toyota Prius model. Hyundai knows that they have to think what the Prius’s mpg will be like 3-5 years from now. Hyundai’s hybrid is currently being tested. Also I hear Kia Motors has an Audi A7 in their R& D reversed engineered so they can know what they are working up against for Kia’s upcoming 2017 RWD GT. Ford’s GT was made to compete with the Acura NSX. That’s what R&D is for Nintendo.
There is a 2017 Mercedes C already on spy shots. Unlike Nintendo who focuses on already available products already for sell, Mercedes knows to plan what Lexus, Audi, Jagaur, BMW and Infinti could be like 3-5 years from now.

Rosalina was the one amiibo that I thought for sure I’d miss out on due to it being a Target exclusive. But fortunately (thank to my niece), I got one, she got one, and my greedy brother got 3. They were all gone by the time I got to Target to look myself
