The New Nintendo 3DS Is Completely Sold Out At GameStop

Wanted to get a New Nintendo 3DS from GameStop and have it delivered on Friday, but didn’t pre-order? Well sadly you’re out of luck. All four New Nintendo 3DS bundles are sold out on the GameStop website. That doesn’t mean you can’t get the console from other retailer, but if you were hoping to get one from GameStop you’ll be disappointed. However it could be well worth your time popping to your local store on Friday to see if they have any in stock.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

    1. This is exactly what the uninformed thinks about the Wii U.
      Not that I’m one of them, of course. I bought my tablet controller from eBay.
      *jokes, jokes*

    2. It has a higher graphics capability and has an added C control stick. The C stick gives more camera control to some games as well as more controls in the overall gameplay(this includes a faster way of performing commands). The 3d is able to self adjust to the different angles. With this it doesn’t distort or take way from the 3d experience. In addition to all of this, the New ads has a device installed allowing the user to place the popular Amiibo on the system to allow a new experience of gameplay. This could have been explained better by someone else, but I hope it was helpful.

  1. Makes you wonder if it’s really selling that good, or if it’s just understocked. Nintendo loves to understock their new products.

      No idiot like the Amiibos, Nintendo is killing it with the products. Must suck to be Sony and sell at a Loss. Or Microsoft that has never made profit of the xbox line hahaha.

      F=ma.

    1. Everyone seems to send me links about GameStop. I guess that’s because it’s a big US retailer for video games. Kinda like how GAME is in the UK.

      1. I wish gamestop would die, or at least stop getting the exclusives that I’m after. Their business practice is terrible, and their customer service is so bad I’ve walked out on two different occassions, after being completely ignored, I avoid there as much as possible. I’ve been in 12 different gamestops across 3 states every experience was unpleasant.

        1. NW Indiana has some mighty-nice associates IMO. There’s around seven in my area & all have been nice & courteous (and always knew what I was talking about). Wherever you’ve been must be the ones with bad hiring practices, not all.

          1. well it’s nice to hear how others have had good experiences, but I still think I’ll keep my distance from their stores as much as possible. I believe that about the indiana ones, I grew up there and didn’t have much trouble for the most part at a particular one in marion.

    Look at all the haters above, Nintendo is Dominating everywhere, imagine selling out in February lol. Jesus please bless the big N a little more :).

    F=ma.

    1. I’m not a hater, i’m a realist. The Marth Amibo sold out quickly too. Mainly because it was understocked. Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii sold out quickly too, because it was understocked. See where I’m going with this? Nintendo has a habit of underestimating how popular their products will be, so they intentionally understock to prevent losing money. It’s nothing new, they have been doing this for years. I can almost guarantee the “New” 3ds was under-shipped to GameStop.

        1. Well unless you experienced buying this stuff first hand, you aren’t going to get much proof. You can easily look online though, and find employees from stores that will tell you this. So I guess that’s proof also.

          I think anyone who has been amiibo hunting, knows first hand how under stocked stores have been. Again, you can look all over the web and see all the retailers employees reporting on such low stock shipments. Even with the strike there isn’t much reason other than to drive up demand, as to why Nintendo sends so little in the shipments that did make it out.

          …. And once again a majority of the new and more popular amiibos are very low on stock. For example; Bestbuy with Meta Knight, multiple employees have reported each store will only get 5. Sonic is looking really scarce as well.

          Seriously though, it’s business 101. If you want to drive up demand for something that is very popular, you limit the stock. It’s a fact people tend to want what they can’t have more than things they can easily get. Plus the less they see, the more rare they feel it is, which in turn drives them to want it even more because of it’s rarity.

          Lol this just about explains it in this little comic.

          1. Haha no problem… It makes perfect sense the why, just people always throwing it out there like a negative seems a bit overzealous. Why not give your product more exclusivity while also playing it safe in terms of how well something might sell. Amiibo could have been a major flop and now they are sought after. I only bought one, but people are nuts for them
            People get that way about this shit though and Nintendo knew it

              1. but their primitive mentality would be precisely why they do as they are told right? Or are you trying to say that something primitive, or wild, would be less likely to obey…

                1. Nintendo Elite Commander Quadraxis

                  The majority of the cat species are still wild and yet they don’t obey humans every time…

                  Which makes the cat line a higher form of life than most humans…

    2. And Nintendo is not dominating everywhere. The Wii U has only sold around 9.5 million units in over two years. The Gamecube sold around 12 million units during the same period for a comparison. The Gamecube only went on to sell 21 million units in 5 and a half years. I would not call that dominating.

      I’m a Nintendo fan, but i’m not going to lie to myself and pretend everything is going good..

  3. Everyone is gonna regret not waiting for a special edition. I can’t believe so many people are sold on the new 3DS. Nintendo hasn’t really even advertised or promoted it much yet.

    1. Until Xenoblade comes out, there literally is not a single reason to buy the new model as of now, and seeing how the Majora’s Mask + the MH special editions sold out, I also think that waiting for other limited versions would have been the better option.
      Well, actually, I even think the two 3DS models were quite unnecessary to begin with. I wish Nintendo would have saved their resources and used them on their next gen handheld(s) instead of wasting them on the 3DS line again, which was super popular either way.
      …But that’s another story, I suppose, lmao.

      1. Speak for yourself bitch the overrated and overhyped game isn’t the only one in existence but i guess all boards need a biased mouth breather.

        1. I am speaking for myself, thus the usage of expressions like “I think” and “I wish”.
          But either way, thank you for your highly valuable input on the matter, it is very convincing.

      2. I tryed one at GS today and its amasing.The 3d face tracking is sick and makes something I could almost never use before to something I will never turn off and the extra buttons,analog stick just help seal the deal all the more.The new AS works great and makes all the difference.Once you go New 3DS you don’t go back!lol

        1. Yea, the improved 3D really is an attractive feature, if not the most attractive one about the new models in terms of hardware. But in my opinion, it is not enough to make me go spend 170€ on a system I practically already own.
          And about the extra buttons, well, you won’t be able to make use of them with any games that are out as of now, if I’m not mistaken. Only the new 3DS exclusives will truly support them and need you to use them, and so far, we only know about one exclusive, which is still a couple of months away. I’ve also heard that the C-stick really isn’t all that good, but I haven’t tried it out myself, so I can’t say too much about that one.
          So yea, I personally just don’t see much of a reason why one should replace their “old” 3DS with the new model right now; maybe later when its library is more diverse. But then again, Nintendo’s next gen handheld will be around the corner too eventually, perhaps featuring backwards compatibility, making it possible to have access to those games when said library is diverse enough.

            1. Oh boy, selling point right there! :p
              Joking aside, I’m sure it is a nice feature for those who are active on Miiverse; but generally seen, maybe not too much of importance, I’d suppose. :)

            1. That is true, but I didn’t think it was worth mentioning, because it isn’t crazy fast compared to the old models or anything. Having to wait a couple of seconds less for a game or the eShop to launch doesn’t make any difference for me personally, really. Sure, it’s a nice extra, but by no means a selling point, in my personal opinion.
              You are definitely right though, the new model indeed is faster. :)

  4. Sir Isaac Newton of Judah.

    Haters are some sea salt flavored losers on my Nintendo. Go and buy the PS Vita special edition and Vita TV while stocks last.

    F=ma.

        hahahahahaha I know. Hopefully it won’t be as long as greatness awaits and waits and waits some more.

        F=ma.

    1. I did, just like I bought the Wii U even though it’s facing the same struggles in slightly different ways. Just cause the Wii U isn’t selling better than the PS4 or Xbox One doesn’t make it any less of a system in that regard. It isn’t like the Wii U has been getting games left and right either, just like the Vita also, it has been taking time for the good games to release on these systems with pretty big droughts in between.

      I don’t get how you can judge one, but not the other. When they actually suffer from many of the same problems.

      What’s really stupid, is any other fan could say the same exact thing about the Wii U right now. Yet instead of embracing the problems at hand in a constructive manner, some of you fans can only muster up these completely irrational, pathetic and delusional defenses when it comes to any negative light put on the Wii U.

      I’ll never understand it.

      Anway… Hate to break it to you (not really), but every gaming system sold right now has its fair share of issues. In one way or another. So you can act all high and mighty all you want, as if the Wii U doesn’t have shit that stinks just the same as any of the other systems.

      Even more hypocritical, you call people haters, while you literally hate on another system no one else brought up in this post besides you. You could’ve easily left out the Vita, but no… You couldn’t help but display that you are no better than the people you about. It shows you have no resolve when it comes to your own philosophical convictions. So.. It is okay for you to act like a stupid ass about other systems, but people can’t criticize the Wii U at all? Even when they aren’t even hating on the system like you are with anything that isn’t made by Nintendo.

So you can act all high and mighty all you want, as if the Wii U doesn’t have shit that stinks just the same as any of the others. I don’t care that much, but you only make yourself look like the typical blindly loyal fan, that you love to mock.

      So… Yea, keep it classy… /s

  5. As the sales of New XL increase, the hope for NoA to release the standard New here dwindles.

    Oh well. I was going to buy New 3DS for the system itself & the possiblity of future exclusive software. Now it’s just a bulky 3DS.5 not worth my cash or my time.

  6. Ridley, the Angel of Death

    Wow. lol Nintendo of America sure is doing a terrible job with stock. I really hope Michelle is right about the short stockage to drive up demand & then Nintendo releases a lot more of the product after the initial release ends. If not, there are going to be a lot of people that couldn’t get Rosalina, Meta Knight, Pit, etc pissed off & forming mobs against the asshole scalpers which will result in a few innocent people that only bought two of the same amiibo getting caught in the crosshairs of the mobs.

  7. I’m waiting until there’s a cool special edition before buying a new 3DS XL. I’m in absolutely no hurry just to see improved 3D etc. It’s not like the new 3DS is the successor to the 3DS. Nintendo will probably spring that on people in another year or so.
