This week’s individual UK charts are now in courtesy of GFK Chart-Track and sales tracker UKIE. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D remains in the top 5 but slips down to 4 from its leader status, while newcomer The Order: 1886 smashes the (games) box office and steals the glory crown from Skull Kid and friends. While Evolve maintains its position from last week, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate takes a nose dive from 4 to 12 – though tracks a good position within the full top 40.
Elsewhere, Mario Kart 8 for Wii U is knocked out entirely after skimming through the charts, and Pokemon Omega Ruby and Tomodachi Life almost partner up, taking 37 and 39 chart positions, respectively. You can view the complete individual UK top 40 games chart below, or alternatively you’ll find the all-format chart, here.

Buying The Order took me more time than completing it.
Hopefully they’ll add multiplayer in the future. Maybe then people like me will have a better reason to buy it. ;p
It doesn’t need multiplayer. No game needs multiplayer. Why would it have multiplayer when you can play with ur frunds??
The Order 1886 might need multiplayer to actually elevate it to game status. Otherwise, it’s a tech demo or at most, an interactive movie. But hey, how else could they charge $60 for a 3D CG movie? Seems more & more, the movie crowd has moved into the “gaming” space, & are apparently flush with cash to pay comparatively higher prices than Blu-ray, DVD, or a movie ticket.
I highly doubt you even played the game… If you did you would know how stupid your statement sounds…
Hello?
You know, if I went out and saw a movie, and saw 5 of them, at ten bucks a pop, is that 50 bucks? Yeah, it is. The total of all the movies I watched is 10 hours, yes? Basic Maths, yes? 50 bucks=10hours of movie screentime. Huh y’know, a certain game that 6-8 hours long, HMM sound very fucking comparable! Let’s say the movies I watched were 1.5 hours each. Surprise surprise! $50 for 8 hours! Compared with The Order, which is $60 AND you can play it too! So is it worth it? No! Because we’re gamers, and we have to bitch and whine about everything, right?
The comparison between movies and games is disingenuous. One is a passive experience while one is interactive, and certainly not on the same level in terms of quality that you’d get from (most) big movies – especially since we also judge how much we enjoy a game far more differently than how we enjoyed a movie.
Oh?
Guess it’s a shame that The Order isn’t even 8 hours long. The longest I’ve seen it take is 6 hours which would be like going to see 6 movies that are an hour long each. Does anybody in their right mind go see 60minute movies? Oh wait, no they don’t, because even the movie industry sees how stupid that is.
Oh my gosh! I would be so mad, if I paid sixty dollars for only an afternoon of gaming.
To be fair, I beat Luigi’s Mansion in roughly 5 hrs. But over 95% of that was gaming (the rest minor scenes & door loading animations). & it was during a time when graphics were fundamentally important for 3D gaming, a real leap in visuals & physics from the gen before (unlike now, where it’s become a pissing match & flashy distraction). Also, the 6th gen stopped @ cinematic gameplay instead of going full-on Hollywood. I’m certainly greatful Platinum Games listened to fans of Bayonetta & reduced QTEs in Bayo 2. Also glad it remained a cinematic game, letting the movie based on the IP be a movie.
yeah but luigis mansion was a launch title you got with the gamecube, similar in size to nintendo land. I understand short games can be enjoyable but I just think that $60 price tag was misleading, for this particular game.
Maybe not but people buy Blu-Rays and DVD’s for $20+ which gives you about 2 hours of entertainment.
It doesn’t need multiplayer. Multiplayer would be pointless in that game. They could have made it longer by extending the story but other than that, I thought it was pretty good. Not GOTY material but enjoyable.
Took 6 hours for me to complete it. Is that short? No. Stop being asshurt
6 hours? That’s incredibly short and a steal of your money…
This is what the Sonyans have become, taking a full price for a game that isn’t even 1/4 lenght of a true Nintendo game as an example, what a joke…
Super Mario 3D World took 7 hours for me to complete
100%?
Didn’t think so.
Comparing apples and oranges.
lol there is no possible way you went through, found all the stars and the stamp reached the top of every flagpole with every character in every level in one evening. your profile status when you bring up the game will shine when you’ve gotten everything.
Is 6 hours incredibly short? 6 hours in Captain Toad seemed long to me. 6 hours in Zelda Minish Cap seemed long to me. 6 hours in W101 seemed long to me.
Then you either are pretty new to gaming overall or you haven’t played real games…
Captain Toad is basically a expansion pack, Zelda Minish Cap can be finished in such a time if you don’t care about exploring everything and W101 I’ve never played so I can’t say anything about that…
PC gamer till the 90’s. Switched to Sony and Nintendo after that. Dabbled a bit with the Dreamcast, hated it and sold it. Problem?
Then I don’t know why you think games like that are long if they took you 6 hours when PC games are usually longer…
Well, at least RTS games…
The W101 it really long. If you go for a 100% run there is so much extra content that it’s ridiculous to complete
also notice those games weren’t $60, you’re just proving their point
It takes 5 hours to complete The Order 1886 if you don’t collect all of the trophies. And trust me, no one is asshurt over that steaming pile of dogshit known as The Shorter 1886 LOL
What do you mean it’s not short. Of course it’s extrememly short and not worth 60 dollars. It’s story driven somthe replay value is no-existence.
Sad that a such shitty game (movie) can become best seller. RIP Video games.
Waa waa, a game I don’t like sold well, help me mommy!
and you’re defending a game you probably never even played just to make it sound like you’re in the right
Well, people obviously have to buy a game first, to find out whether it’s good or bad. You can hardly call that “sad”.
If you read a review that has objective points, it doesn’t require actually playing a game or fiddling with an interactive movie to understand the rudimentary of a game. Does one really need to play E.T. to see if it were fun? Does anyone really need to play The Order 1886 to know it’s short on game but heavy on movie? Tech demo or not, it does very little to justify the ‘game’ part of ‘video game’, intead emphasizing ‘video’ & hardcore graphics.
I was going to post a video but just search YouTube for The Order gameplay videos and you would see how inaccurate those statements are about being a “movie” only with QTE’s. The stealth missions were fun and the gunplay is solid.
Even if that were true (only QTE’s). It’s hypocritical on the part of those reviewers considering all of the point and click games or QTE heavy games like many PC adventures, Heavy Rain, and those from TellTale (The Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, etc) which get rave reviews.
Reviews can’t really have much of objective points. It’s the reviewer’s opinion about the game, how they personally felt about the game and how much they personally liked it (or, didn’t like it). It’s subjective.
Have you played The Order btw? I think it’s difficult to call a game bad before having played it, you can’t just tell by the looks of it. And for its times, E.T. didn’t look super terrible or anything. So again, you had to actually try it out before you could tell whether you would like it or not. I personally have tried a couple of games many people said bad things about, and I actually ended up liking some of them a lot.
I’m not trying to defend The Order or anything, I haven’t even bought it so I don’t know enough about it to make statements about it, but yea, all I’m saying is that it’s really not much of a surpise for it to sell well at launch.
It seems like the order is more movie than game. It’s a shame. I wonder if people are returning their copies, maybe the developers can take note of reviewer complaints and make a sequel that focuses more on gameplay.
Actually, someone calculated. The Order has about 1 hour of cutscenes and roughly 7-8 hours of gameplay. Go search it up on google
but most of the gameplay is just quick time events that play out like cut scenes, google it
Rather than Google it, play it or watch someone else play it. Most of these statements are inaccurate. Yes, it’s a fairly short game – but it’s a mix of QTE’s and TPS and a few other gameplay elements.
While the game got mostly mixed reviews, most of the regular gamers who are actually playing the game seem to enjoy it.
It’s a different type of game. If we only had one type of genre, things would get pretty boring.
No it’s not. If you collect all of the trophies then it may take an extra hour to complete and given how it takes you 5 hours at best to complete it without collecting trophies that adds it up to it being 6 hours long. The game is too short and it’s loaded with far too many QTEs. Sorry man but you guys bought a dogshit movie that went straight to Blu-ray lol
I hate how people are crying about The Order when games like Xenoblade is even a BIGGER culprit of more movie than game
I haven’t played Xenoblade, but that sounds suspiciously wrong
Xenoblade had lots of cutsences, but the if we count it we still have 60+ hours story mode gameplay and 100+ hours gameplay for completing everything. The order has 7 or less hours gameplay.
And how much of that gameplay time are meaningless monster quests, unique monster quests, item collection quests
I never got tierd playing it. It simply fun, exciting, and beautiful. You should try it out. Im going to rebuy it on 3DS. It is simply a wonderful experience with quality characters, story and music. Cant wait for Xenoblade chronicles X
Beautiful? Ok, if your going to lie, at least make it believable, Xenoblade Chronicles was a bat shit ugly game. Fun I believe, even exciting, but that game is far from beautiful, not even its art saves it.
A terrible movie at that.
Still better than Sonic Boom
Meh, I’d say it was slightly worse… at least Sonic Boom was some what playable and actually felt like a game kind of.
The Order on the other hand felt like a boring QTE Movie with what felt like on the rails shooting type stages.
Sonic Boom playable. :p
Still more playable than the Order which held your hand through the whole game.
‘Tis a joke, calm down
Lol, Sonic Boom. Poor mans ratchet and clank. I know not to take you seriously since you made such an asinine statement.
“On the rails shooting”… Oh, my. You definitely haven’t played the game or you don’t know what rail-shooters are.
The public don’t have brains. That’s why they bought awful games such as Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and now this. They just point at their TVs and say “Advert told me to buy game so guess I have to”. No. Do your damn research for once. In a world where it is so easy to so this, there is no excuse for buying tripe such as Watch Dogs or The Order. There is no excuse.
So mind telling me what’s wrong with Watch Dogs? Because you obviously played it, why not tell me it’s cons?
*awaits demon_gant copying pros and cons from a gaming review site and paraphrasing it*
That is so true. That’s actually the saddest thing about the Order. It’s a mediocre game that got -imo- the reviews it deserved. But people are still buying it. Bassicly telling the developers, this direction is good or in other words: We don’t need new..or even any gameplay. Just give us nice graphics and we are happy. What a shame…
Well, Sony fangirls will buy anything, even if the game is shit which is 99% of the games that are exclusive so far and only 1% which are actually any good…
Better than Nintendogs who don’t even buy anything. Lol *cough*Bayonetta Rayman Legends Pikmin 3 W101 *cough*
I actually bought those games though…. just saying.. not even a Nintendo fanboy.
Sony Fangirls will by a piece of dirt with horse poop on it if it had the PS4 logo on it.
Just because you bought those games doesn’t mean others did.
Nintendo Fangirls will by a piece of dirt with horse poop on it if it had the Mario on it. Works both ways bro
Not really though, many Nintendo fans dislike the modern Mario Party games and Ocarine of Time has fallen out of favour for most fans.
Sony fans on the other hand seem to worship Sony no matter what, even if The Order sucked or Killzone Shadow Fall failed at launch, they’d still buy it up like flies to poop.
Even Microsoft fans are much smarter as they complained that the Master Chief Collection was a buggy mess and most of them really didn’t like Forza 5 at launch.
I guessing you ignored Driveclub complaints @ launch?
DriveClub had complaints… from people who weren’t fangirls for Sony…
Fanboys, such as yourself, defended the game even if it was a pile of crap.. just saying kiddo
did I defend Sony in any of my comments? Interesting, because all I see is me showing the other side of the coin.
4hr game is already forgotten.
Wait… the Order is a game?!
I thought it was a terrible B-Movie with pretty CGI and nothing else.
People are actually defending. The Order. Wow. The game is around 5 hours long, The gameplay is pretty bland, and was overhyped to shit. People defended Ground Zeroes by the fact that the gameplay was good. It also got a price reduction from 40 to 30$. Not to mention Ground Zeroes actually is sort of a tech demo for Phantom Pain. So The Order has no excuse for being souless.
Rather than making baseless accusations and being blind, I bought the game. It’s DEFINITELY not as short as people said it was. Gunplay was a little slippery, and AI was wonky toward the end of the game, but in the end it was enjoyable. But I hated the plot though, made almost no sense
lol if you were defending it, that sounded really negative XD I don’t understand why people are dogging ps4 owners for buying it, it’s their money they can spend it all on sonic boom and bubblegum for all I care.
I liked the plot. I just wish the current storyline was resolved in the game. With that said, I hope there is a direct sequel to wrap it up. I’d love to see another The Order game in a different century as well. The lore is great, I think. It has a lot of potential.
Ground Zero was actually a pretty good game and had little side missions you could do, the Order on the other hand… no…
I personally waited until the PC version of GZ came out and get it for £5 but I wouldn’t pay £25 for it… let alone pay £45 for The Order.
he said the ground zero has good gameplay
The Order is still to much money for a 5-7 hour game that’s bad the dev should had added more no matter what people say a game that’s 5-7 long is not worth the price of the a full game when it’s not I don’t care about the look or how good the story is if all you can do is a story mode and that’s the game and that’s not at less 20-40 hour then it’s not a full game this game is 5-7 hour even if you get everything that’s not worth my money till they add something else to the game but the only thing they will add is DLC that you will make you pay for witch will be stupid as hell
If I had that 5-7 hour gameplay mentality, I would never have gotten Captain Toad.
Captain Toad gives you a reason to keep playing it though to see if you can get the fastest time on each level and collect all the Stars in the level, while the Order felt like an On-The Rails Shooter in 3rd Person.
He was talking about length right? Where did he talk about depth?
I guess you can run about like a retard for 7 more hours to add more depth to the Order.
Length*Depth=Gameplay time.
which again, captain toad is $40, not $60, you guys are only proving there point
captain toad wasn’t $60 buddy. I’m not trying to defend it by any means though it’s actually the first nintendo game of this wii u generation that I would resell because the replay value is next to none.
The Sonyans are nothing more than brainless graphicwhoring movieworshipping cattle masses…
Movies like The Order 1886 and The Last of Us is the proof of their ever declining gaming IQ…
It must be sad being ignorant about the gaming community.
Your words are irrelevant Sonyan, go back to your movies…
Lol, I like how you call me a Sonyan when the only Sony console I own is a PS1 (played the fuck out of Xenogears). I remember you calling Pewdiepie an Xbox too. Laughable
Defending such garbage makes you a Sonyan by default just like PewDiewhatever blames the empire for something he doesn’t even bother doing videos about…
Xbots are the lowest of the lowest…
Did I ever defend The Order? Quote me pls, I’m interested
P.S. Pewdiepie played a WarioWare game once, just saying
You defended it by default by commenting on my original comment…
You’re making false assumptions and applying shitty logic again, throwing out more ad hominems.
Sad, too, because in regards to the sales of the Order, I actually agree with you (SHOCKING, I KNOW) on some level. You just go about expressing it in your typical douchebag style.
False assumptions and yet he got annoyed by something that’s true, how convenient…
People get annoyed when they’re falsely accused of something. Surprising, I know. And yet another assumption on your part based on something that’s not true. People might enjoy discussing things with you a lot more if you weren’t such a prick, you know.
Kinda sad that you even know that.
Yes, for someone who is arguably one of the most popular internet personalities, who has millions of subscribers and people who watch him, it’s really sad that someone knows what games he plays. Clearly.
Games like LBP3, Sound Shapes, Guacamelee, and other games can debunk your claim… Only MOST people who play on Sony consoles are somewhat delusional about their game purchases… I own a PS4, PS3, and PSVita, and I have made smart purchases on most of my games. I feel like the problem about certain people is just that they don’t look into a game before they buy it. Also, culture has grown to a point where people will pay MONEY to buy a broken game just to joke around with it, and see the wacky glitches in the game… That’s why glitchy games these days have overthrown the gaming market. (That and unwillingness to delay certain games)
Goat simulator. :p
Err… No.
No, what?
You said, “culture has grown to a point where people will pay MONEY to buy a broken game just to joke around with it, and see the wacky glitches in the game”
I mentioned Goat Simulator because that’s exactly what it is. The description of the game actually says it’s glitch-filled and terrible. But people buy it to have fun with it.
Oh yeah, for some reason my mind thought about the first part of my comment where I talked about the games like Sound Shapes that I usually buy. That’s a perfect example now that I understand lol
This is very worrying.
Mediocrity should not be rewarded with bumper sales. What is wrong with the public, are they really that dumb?? Actually they are. The latest Transformers film was, I think, the highest grossing film of 2014 but was the worst.
The public love to be screwed.
Just like how Majora’s Mask 3D was casualized (the fuck? Why did they screw with the save system?) and sold well.
because they didn’t screw up the save system, they fixed it
It wasn’t broken though. Some “gamers” just couldn’t pass it because it wasn’t an easy game. -_- seriously, what kind of idiot couldn’t pass that game. Specially the version WE got, Japan got the actual hard game.
The two are hardly comparable. Zelda MM is a great game regardless of what anyone feels about the save system.
Majoras Mask is 30 hours long and $40. Why would you compare a masterpiece to this pile of shit..
This game takes place 3 years before nintendo was founded
er, i dont know the UK anymore they brought a short game with no multiplayer or online. wtf… its in first…. i dont even..
They can’t even buy their own garbage right any more…
Wii u’s $40 games shit all over $60 aaa trash all day
No wiiU games so sad
That’s the UK gaming fanbase for ya. So long as the games cater to the ” dude-bro ” and casual gaming audience they always have a chance to sell well regardless of how shitty they are
Thats a serious problem too. Once developers realize (they may already have) that they don’t have to make a good game to sell copies, you can kiss the video game industry bye. All these developers have to do is;
1: make sure the game looks good.
2: Make sure it’s voice acted.
3: Spend a decent amount to make dude bro commercials
And if everybody does that, then there might be another video game crash. Or no?
I haven’t even actually seen any gameplay of The Order 1886. But if it’s as short as people say, then it would probably be better if you wait until the price goes down. I can’t say anything about it because I haven’t played it. I wish some of you guys could do the same instead of blindly hating on it. That’s ridiculous.
That reminds me, I need to look at some of those reviews…
Polygon gave it a 5.5
It’s not so much that it’s too short as much as it just sucks. The gameplay is awful. It goes in a pattern with a shooting section followed by a QTE. Repeat and rinse for six hours. If the game was actually creative and fun, the six hours would not bother me so much..
kick off call of doody & Gaylo then you will have a worthy list
Someone explain to me how minecraft is still selling so well. Why?
