Garfield Kart For Nintendo 3DS Announced By Amazon Germany

Amazon Germany is fantastic for announcing games before they’ve officially been announced by the publisher. Anyway, they’ve listed Garfield Kart for the Nintendo 3DS which one can only assume is a blatant rip-off of Mario Kart. We’ve yet to see a trailer though so it’s best to reserve judgement, though I have suspicion this is based on a mobile game. Here’s what the Google translated listing on Amazon Germany says.

The verfressene cat put down a hot tire! Big cat on the slopes! In the fast kart racing game Garfield competes against his friends. Clearly, this spectacle of course Jon and Odie do without. Await unbridled fun in three difficulty levels and 4 game modes: quick race, Championship, time trial and daily challenge. But that’s not all: via WiFi you can play you with up to three friends in the local network on sixteen different routes. Who is the most skillful rider or most insidious? Throw objects in the way your competitors and take away the right of way. But eight give, your friends can’t sleep. A Lasagna is a perfect barrier for an obese cat. Collect items such as crazy hats and different spoiler, to your kart to push and rush first through the target. Kart with Garfield for your 3DS even Assembly fun!

      1. False, kids will probably want to play it, then play it and realize it sucks. That only happened to me once when I bought Ice Age 2 for the DS when I was like 6-7… I still hate that game, good good thing I got rid of it…

If you were 6-7 when Ice Age 2 for the DS came out (2006) that would make you either 15 or 16…. damnnnn you are a young person. Still got like 2 years left of high school.

  2. Why the hell am I still subscribed to a site that spends time writing articles about terrible Minecraft Knock-offs, garbage indie games and whatever this is. Literally the day after a direct and this is what you are reporting on? A garfield go-kart game? Never you mind the MOUNTAINS of information about the Fire Emblem game that have been revealed in the past 24 days, we have a Garfield game to report on.

  3. I know we all think this will be garbage…

But what if in a weird twist of fate its actually one of the greatest cart racers ever, and we just overlook it because we judged a book by its cover

  4. wow you guys are mean! I have been a HUGE Garfield fan since the 80’s. It’s definitely got my attention. I hope Nermal is in it!!!!!!

  5. @ least a 3rd party is trying a genre. Sad, but it seems Kart Racers are treated as though Ninty has a patent on it (& as if “AAA” is the only way to have fun). Sure, Ninty has the quality, IP, & legacy, but if nobody tried, then it’s no wonder why everyone demands so much from Nintendo (which should use Diddy Kong Racing as their handheld Karting variant, keeping Mario Kart home-console only).

Would be nice if Konami did another Konami Krazy Racers, Vicarious Visions (Activision) did another Crash Nitro Kart, Ubisoft (not Gameloft) did another Rayman Kart (not on mobile), & Capcom did another Mega Man Battle & Chase, among other 3rd parties & IP. Or hey, invest in a new Kart Racer IP.

I guess SEGA tried w/ SEGA & All-Stars Racing in 7th & 8th gens, but they BOTH had slippery controls. As much as I enjoyed & played the Wii entry, I just had to pass on the Wii U & 3DS entries.

I prefer Arcade Racers anyway. But 3rd parties AND Nintendo seem to also ignore that genre. Thankfully, indies remeber w/ Aqua Moto Racing Utopia, Fast Racing Neo, & The 90s Arcade Racer (hurry up, already). I guess it’s good that Nintendo is letting indies fill that niche (3rd parties sure refuse). But Wave Race & F-Zero are still sorely needed (I guess Star Wave Race: Evolution was BS or scrapped).

I’d love another Ridge Racer from Namco, another Extreme-G & Burnout from Acclaim (resurrect them if only to keep EA away from Burnout), another Cruis’n from Midway (resurrect them, too, or someone buy the IP & do something w/ it), & another Outrun from SEGA.
