Nintendo of America and Nintendo Europe finally gave us a closer look at the Shin Megami Tensei & Fire Emblem Crossover Project on the Wii U. The role-playing masters at ATLUS are developing a truly modern RPG, where everyday life exists alongside a secret world of fantasy, including characters from the Fire Emblem series. We’ve yet to get a release date for the game.

was excited for this one but now I’m not sure about this one. need to see some actual game-play footage. When I first saw the trailer on Nintendo Direct I didn’t realize that this is the Shin Megami Tensei & Fire Emblem Crossover.
I think is more of a thematic crossover, kinda like Xenoblade Chronicles X is a crossover of the whole Xeno Series (mech from Xenogear, story from Xenosaga and combat from Xenoblade)
I think they are taking inspiration from all the SMT games and their spin offs like Persona and Devil Survivor and they adding the fantasy and class elements from FE
Well, sure, if “thematic crossover” means entirely dismissing Fire Emblem and just making a Persona game with Fire Emblem characters substituting personas, it’s insulting that they think so lowly of Fire Emblem that they won’t even try to include anything more than a few characters and, worse, play them as some kind of battle pet.
Eh, another developer going into my Never Buy list, they’ll fit nicely right beside Ubisoft.
The Fire emblem characters are there but they are hard to recognise due the art style plus we were told this was gonna be a modern setting
Not to mention that the 2013 didn’t tell us anything about the crossover for all we know it could have been FE Character summonign demons from SMT
Honestly i’m Glad they went for this colorful angle Cuz i’m tired of all the edgy bullshit, it may not be the gritty game people expect but i think this game has potential plus a crossover doesn’t need to between characters of the franchise to be a crossover Xenoblade Chronicles X is a good example of this it mixes a lot of the element of the Xeno series but it’s it’s own entity look i understand not liking the asthetics of the game since a lot of people don’t like the animesque style but i think people really need to stop bashing a game that we Barely got any info

People are salty because they made that assumption that this game would just be about SMT and FE characters thrown in together. Now that they realize that the initial title was more of a code name and that this is just a brand new spin-off, they’re pissed.
No, people complain because SMT usually is dark and depressing, FE usually is serious and fantasy-driven and this shit game is putting some form of Hatsune Miku shit in the forefront.

It seems the title has been changed from being called “SMT X Fire Emblem” to just being called Genei Ibunroku#FE to sorta denote that it’s less a crossover and more a new project with influences from both sides poured in. Which proves my opinion of this been a thematic crossover instead of a direct universe crossover still i hope people give this game a chance don’t judge a book by it’s cover

I never said I wasn’t going to buy the game because I love both franchises very much, but I simply didn’t see much gameplay that looked like anything from either franchise.

Hmm… Can’t say I am a fan of the music (maybe even worse than Xenoblade Chronicles X’s second trailer song). Seems a little too light-hearted. I mean- aren’t Shin Megami Tensei game a little more mature than the J Pop theme in the trailer?
The overworld looks pretty cool. The combat doesn’t really remind me of Fire Emblem, which may or may not be for the best. Still looking forward to the game- but I just hope it’s a bit darker, has a bit of strategy, and permadeath would be a plus.

Once I saw that Atlus was tweeting about the Direct I kept telling people that Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem was gonna be shown today but most of them didn’t believe me, well I hate to say I was the one that told you so well…..I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!! This game is my most looked forward to game of this Nintendo Direct. I really enjoy the Persona series, and would like a new rpg on my Wii U.

I’m glad to finally see this game for once. However, honestly, this doesn’t look like SMT x FE to me. Where’s Marth, Ike & Lucina from Fire Emblem? Where’s the demons including the Jack Bros (because everything counts) from SMT?

This completely caught me off guard but there is one thing I want to mention… the music is just fantastic! Love that J-Pop song, very energetic and uplifting.
