Gengar Announced As Playable Character In Pokkén Tournament

Pokkén Tournament is a mash-up game of Tekken with Pokémon characters. Developed by Bandai Namco in collaboration with The Pokémon Company, it’s set to release in Japanese arcades this Summer. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, we can probably bet that it will eventually arrive on the Wii U at some point at least. You’ll be able to play as characters like Pikachu, Suicune, Gardevoir and, as just announced, Gengar. Check out the trailer and see what you think, it’s a pretty clever concept and definitely worth keeping an eye out for! Will you be crossing your fingers for Pokkén Tournament to release on the Wii U? What Pokémon would you most like to play as?

    >>>This battle mechanic is something I want translated in some form to the main games>>>

The Japanese actually have great singing voices. I don’t know what the fuck was wrong with their voices.

      1. According to Dr. TRE Wii U is more relevant than Arcades. When I’d Nintendo going to start meeting with today’s standards in gaming in 2015?

  2. I’m hoping this gets announced for wii u at e3. That and maybe some information on that Pokemon mystery game that was in development

  3. Gengar is pretty cool, but I’m still waiting for Greninja.
    And possibly Swampert.
    And release for the WiiU.

  4. If this does come for the Wii U, it wouldn’t be anytime soon. Most likely next year or on the next console.

But if it does, I wonder if this game will do better than Smash Bros. in Wii U sales.

  7. I really hope the games name gets changed for the eventual Wii U release. Yes, we get that it plays like Tekken, but I am sure more people want to play it because its the first time we can control the actual characters in trainer battles.

Agreed! Because Pokemon Rumble doesn’t count since they are toys instead of the actual Pokemon.
