Japan: Nintendo 3DS Sells 20K And Wii U Sells 6K

This week’s sales charts are now in from Japan courtesy of Famitsu. There’s a number of new releases this week, but none have really driven hardware sales significantly except the PlayStation 4. The biggest entry is Bravely Second: End Layer for the Nintendo 3DS which is the sequel to the well-received Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. This week it seems as though the PlayStation 4 is proving to be good competition against the Nintendo 3DS as hardware sales were close between the two platforms. Here’s the best-selling games and hardware.

  1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

    >>>It’s obvious that our empire has a 6000 unit production every weak in our Homeworld>>>

    1. Also, at least it’s selling 4 figures per week. Unlike the Xbox One that bearly breaks 500 per week.

            1. It’s never gonna happen realistically. There will always be people who will pick up XB regardless of XB’s reputation.

  2. Wow, slow week huh??? It will only be a matter of time, before Mario Kart 8 surpasses 1,000,000 in Japan. Also, Japan really doesn’t give a damn about the Xbox One. I don’t own and have no intentions of owning an Xbox One, so I have no opinion on the matter.

      1. If it’s 6K Nintendo Employees buying a Wii U every week in Japan. Then what does that say about the XBOX One??? That 500 Microsoft employees buy XBOX One’s every week? Stop spouting BS, when you don’t know the actual situation…

        1. Just by looking at his screen name you do realize he/she/it is being sarcastic and troll right. You shouldn’t feed it.

      1. Embargo is for reviews and for games that are releasing on a specific date. It doesn’t count for games that haven’t even been announced for release yet.

      1. You don’t know that. Localization can take months and months. Its very strange that we are halfway through the year and we still don’t have a release date. They are obviously not very far in localization either judging off of the latest direct…

        2016.. I have a bad feeling…

        1. I think that in the latest episode of Iwata Asks, they confirm that it will be coming to the West this year. I take that as Xenoblade will be out around the same time that Hyrule Warriors released last year. With Starfox being Nintendo’s holiday title.

        2. I hope it’s sooner than later… It’s been such a long wait. x.x Could be a system seller, knock on wood.

        3. I remember an article on here saying that the localsation has begun halfway through the development. if the script was already written at that point it make sense that even after some changes, the script has been translated, the voice over may have already done and the rest is just addons. Nintendo knows the game is popular and will do proper launch cause Xenoblade is popular on its own but can sell hardware with the rest of the games (smash, mario kart, zombie U, star fox, bayonetta, wonderfull 101, captain toad, zelda, mario 3D).

I was hoping a troll would remark on some fictional failure of Xenoblade X. I wanted to blast somebody. But it looks like X has been well received by fans and trolls alike. This almost never happ3ns.

      1. Xenoblade is a low-grade skyrim, it’s no wonder it’s not even on the charts! Buy a PC if you want a real open world game!

        1. REALITY CHECK– Xenoblade Chronicles X is a REAL open world game. Secondly, the world is five times the size of the original XC on Wii and New 3DS XL. Not only that, the world in XCX is 20 times the size of Skyrimjob. Admit yourself defeat, troll. You’re denying yourself now that Xenoblade Chronicles X is already SOLD OUT in Japan.

          1. I was just saying that because he seemed disappointed that noone trolled him and I didn’t want him to be sad. ;) – Yes. It will be fucking amazing. :D

        2. Skyrim? They have completely different settings and they have completely different gameplay as well as they are different genres. Xenoblade is a RPG, Skyrim is a first person shooter with sword and bows instead of guns. Also Skyrim sucks.

        3. Nintendo Lieutenant Cereza

lol. Thanks troll. That was funny enough. It’ll probably help me get through the rest of today.

        4. Wow, really? This is the most ignorant bullshit comment I’ve seen so far. Xenoblade Chronicles X was released on April 29th, 2015 in Japan. It’s too short of a time to gather sales number.

      1. Yeah some people already have it. In the article it says this is the chart for this week. And the fact Xenoblade X isn’t on the chart shows that it probably isn’t for this week and instead for last week. If we were to get this week’s chart (which probably isn’t available yet) Xenoblade X would be here. So the article is wrong.

        1. Maybe they mean that by the information itself was released this week, rather than the sales that happened this week

    1. I think these sales ended on a Sunday. It takes a few days for the numbers to be reported in, tallied and then sent to media outlets. Xenoblade, including bundles, first week sales should come in on Wednesday next week.

    1. It’s always been at the top, under this context. Usually, the New 3DS, New 3DS LL, 3DS and 3DS LL are tallyed separately. On here, it’s totalled up.

      1. Microsoft isn’t bad either. In my opinion, their Windows 7 operation system was their best out of their Windows products. As for Xbox, I can’t really speak of it since I never had one.

Well, I won’t bother your argument if you claim yourself to be Mac OS X user.

  3. Remember the early years of the 3DS’s life, and people said it was gonna flop? We’ll who knows, maybe the Wii U will…..ah who am I kidding

    1. LOL Yeah unfortunately the Wii U wasn’t as lucky as the 3DS… I’m really hoping Nintendo learns from their mistakes with the Wii U and make the next system better. If not, then I might completely lose faith in them and wouldn’t mind if they went 3rd party honestly. I MIGHT

  4. I think the game will gave 4 player online questing, and up to 32 players connected loosely. Can’t wait!

    1. Lets hope so, though even if it is just for bosses, its good enough to me.
Though they should have epic boss fights all 32 players could take part of.
      Or horde fights.
