A man from Colorado who resides in his RV is blaming his Wii console for burning down his RV and everything he owns. Trevor Pellegrin, the man whose home burned down, says that the fire crew who attended the scene say that they are 99% confident that it was the Wii that caused the blaze. Pellegrin says that he was watching Netflix on his Wii and then switched it off and went to attend a meeting, however once he returned his RV had been burned to the ground.

I know but still turn it off as it fixes the “pixels” problem I once had. The graphics card in the wii overheated and I had to send it Nintendo to fix it. Turning it off fixes that problem!

IDK how but my bottle of body wash which was fucking closed, somehow opened itself and was leaking on my PS3. It was able to turned on at first so I tried to clean it up and then turn it on. The second it did, it died and none of that soap even touched the motherboard so IDK how the fuck it just died. X(

Make sure no games are in your system. Unplug the system. Hold the eject button when you plug the system back in. Your PS3 fan will blow outward for about a minute and try and remove any internal dust. When it’s finished unplug the system, plug it back in and use as you normally would.
It was in a bag and my Axe stuff was in a box. I laid it on top of my unplugged PS3 which was closed. Sony ain’t gonna do shit and from where I live, there’s no Sony store around. The eject button is that open tray on the third PS3 version. IDK if holding the button is gonna work.

Apple’s iOS software is in fact as simple as it gets. Mac OS however compare to Windows is a bit more complicated but more secured than Windows. They have ups and downs yes but Apple is far from terrible. Overpriced? You might say that and I can agree on some levels like that damn Apple Watch or Macs.

Customization is a neat extra but what are the chances that you’ll notice them much once your choice of custom wallpaper (iOS does it), ringtones (iOS does it) or custom app designs (iOS does it through Jailbreak) so what’s the point? if you don’t hold the off button long enough on the console then it stays yellow and is not really off. It is red when it is really off and you can’t get it to red through your remote. have to hold the off button for several seconds on the console itself.

Not all the details are here from the sounds of it, the best possible way for it to truly catch fire is that he must have had the cord cut revealing the wires. electric tape can easily fix that problem BUT, he should have bought a new cord to prevent the fire…or he had something too close to it that can easily catch fire…but I’, finding that hard to believe because I has things that can catch fire easily on my wii and nothing happens after hours like my shirts, plastic cups, plastic or foam plates, etc. Yeah I was real messy back then.

My folks kept the old Wii and use it as a perpetual Netflix machine. It is *always* on, even if they’re not watching Netflix. It gets hot. And with power surges or overheating, etc. sure it occasionally gets a few second or minutes break I’m sure. But it’s never come close to burning our place up.
Also, when looking for a fire cause, it’s not often the most melted that is the cause.
If this was possible, we would have heard more stories about Wii’s catching on fire. Is this guy telling me that out of 101 million Wii’s, his is the only one that caught on fire?

if you do not dust around anything electronic with fans over a period of time it will get clogged with dust and it will continue to get hotter and hotter over time even when and sleep mode with wiiconnect24 it continues to stay warm and then hot he may have been watching Netflix and turned off the wii and he could have froze before completely shutting off without him realizing it and that would have made it continuously getting hot while being on with no fans that could start melting anything plastic wires there you go.
I feel pretty bad for the guy but yeah, something just seems fishy. It’s either a lack of maintenance, his RV, cords because a Wii console is never meant to be unplugged. The only case you do so is when you pack it away.
I hope to hear more details regarding the news later on but if it’s not staged, then I honestly feel bad for the game, he lost part of what he called his home.

might be true, i find that most people dont know how to turn off there wii console. it can not be turned off with the wii remote, that will put it into stand by mode, which means its still on. people who do this will complain about how there wii is always hot even when its “off”. to turn off your wii you need to hold the power button on the system itself until it turns off.

Wii and Wii U still pull some current, even when turned off. That red light that you see when off is actually an indicator that Standby voltage is present and internal power supply board is doing its job. So, if you have bare wires exposed on your AC adapter cord, it can cause a fire. Check your AC adapter cords.
