We have been waiting for quite some time on Shin’en’s next project the futuristic racer Fast Racing NEO. However, today that company has updated their website to include some gorgeous images of the super fast racer in action. The first footage of the game is coming in June and the game will run at 720p and 60fps. You will also be able to challenge others online when Fast Racing NEO launches later this year.
These graphics look amazing. I’ll make sure to keep my eye on this game.

I love how you people here are basing your opinions on a few screenshots and graphics, but when other people use the graphics argument against Nintendo, or like a game that won’t be coming on a Nintendo platform based on a trailer, CGI trailer or screenshots, then they are fucking morons and/or those graphics will according to Nintendo fanboys be downgraded. So, you can determine if Need For Speed games are good by looking at Mario Kart? Or Sonic racing games compared to Mario Kart? Or even Sonic racing games compared to Diddy Kong Racing? This is more of a nostalgic-based decision than a clear-minded one. And as so, your judgement has no base.

OP: I agree. people shouldn’t be basing the game on how good it is from screen shots, especially without gameplay trailers. That’s like saying just because a new Mario game has a title, it makes it better than every other Mario game to date! You claim you didn’t make a comparison, but then you go on to use the idea of formulas for games… Well, then you are therefore contrasting the formula of F-Zero to this game, and implying that the formula should be similar or the same to F-Zero. Even more so, you are ignoring the definition of “nostalgia”. If you want future Mario games to be like Super Mario 64, to give you those same senses it gave to you when you played it, this implies you have an attachment to Super Mario 64, a sense of nostalgia in the way the game is played. I stated “Nostalgia-base decision” because you are stating that the ties people have with F-Zero should affect the perspective of this game all without considering the actual gameplay of this game as its own game. But here’s the thing: You cannot do this as the gameplay hasn’t been shown off yet. Even worse, you insult someone over it just because you believe that the game deserves praise for screen shots, all without knowing the rest of the picture. It’s like saying you ‘completed’ a puzzle when you didn’t even finish half of it. You don’t have a complete picture.
A game’s gameplay is not the only thing that requires a game to be good. Level design, soundtrack, events, the feel of the game, the visuals… How it all handles together is what makes the game a success or a failure. All you’ve seen is screen shots. This game isn’t F-Zero. You should wait a bit more before over-reacting about a game that you have next to no information about. Exactly. While this certainly looks like a wonderful FZero inspired game, let’s reserve our anticipation for when we see how it looks and get a rough idea of their plan for it.
It does look great and is certainly more than we got from those Project THIEVES, but let’s keep expectations realistic.
These guys have been good in the past and the original Fast Racing was a pretty decent Wii game. So there is allot of potential here.

Totally agree. Every game they put on a Nintendo platform has been gorgeous. Might just give us our F-Zero fix, and if the game play and content are rich enough, I could see myself playing this more than Mario Kart.

From what I’m aware of, the technical problems these games have are the only demerits. Gameplay-wise, they are phenomenal, at least according to people I know who have played The Witcher 3 :) Project Cars issues are mainly found on AMD GPUs, and that is caused by driver problems on AMD’s side.
Also, who says this game can’t be a glitch-fest when it’s released? Maybe this game will join them for all we know…

Shin’en truly knows how to push the envelope when it comes to gorgeous visuals and spot on game play mechanics. Nano Assault Neo was my first Wii U eShop game that I had purchased. And since I still support the German developer, I’m buying FAST Racing Neo at launch!
