Pokkén Tournament Japanese Release Date Revealed

Pokkén Tournament is every fan’s dream come true — a 3D, high-definition Pokemon fighting game. Controlling a Machamp with a full grappling move set like King from Tekken sounds like an early birthday present! Pokkén Tournament is due to be released in Japanese arcades in July of this year, while the exact date is still unknown. The game has not been announced for Wii U, nor has it been announced for release in North America or Europe. Yet.

Sadly to say, American and European details for the game are basically non-existent. Still, it would be a long stretch to believe that the Pokemon Company would consider keeping this game domestic. Think of all the fans around the world that would riot… It’s not a pretty thought!

  1. It would be a stupid move for this not to come to the Wii U an from what am hearing Nintendo is pushing for it to be on the Wii U just not rushing for it to be

What? Pushing it for Wii U? Now? Why didn’t they push for it when the game was in early stage of development? They are always so late in thinking months and years ahead.

If they thought about that game coming to Wii U sooner in early stage it could have been out sooner rather than later. And knowing Wii U has droughts. That’s was stupid to just now think of pushing the game for Wii U. May as well wait for NX.

        1. It’s a fighting game. Developer’s prefer to usually let it to hit the arcades, before console. To eliminate bugs and bring attention to it

          1. That’s just sounds like a excuse for the dumb decisions Nintendo makes. They can make two versions at the start and release the Arcade version first. That way it’s decreases a drought. It makes mores sense then to make an arcade version then months later make the Wii U version. But Nintendo is stupid so I don’t expect future common sense.

            1. Dude every developer who make fighting games usually do this approach. U need a drought, once in awhile, so u can pay attentions to other platform’s & other activities. Unless u hold stock’s, me and u shouldn’t care. Since wii good regardless…

  2. As someone who loves Pocket Monsters, I have absolutely no interest in this game.

    Porygon rules.

  3. 1. It may not be until 2017 or 2018 until this game is on the wii u everywhere else besides japan
    2. The Japanese players will keep beta testing this game for several months maybe longer then more characters and stuff will be added and more beta testing etc etc
    3. Then the complete game comes out

    1. 2017? That’s stupid. Should have made a Wii U version with the Arcade version. Why release it when NX is supposed to release?

      1. 1. Now this game may be out this year in Japan and so we would get it next year but that all depends on how long the testing and fixing the game will take
        2. So yes depending on how things go the game can come 2016 or 2017 for everyone outside of Japan
        3. You don’t know when the nx is coming out it could be 2018 who knows

  4. The Game will eventually come to the Wii U but japanese players will beta test the game this is very common for Tekken Games they always get release on the arcades first to get feedback then they release the game on a console

  5. There has to be a reason a trailer was shown in an NoA direct? Why would they reveal a Japanese only game to the American public?

    1. And at that quite early in fact it’s like they !! Quickly my nintendo gamers 2 miiverse to start are assumptions. Outside gamers..To playstation home i guess ..lol
