We have ended up with Metroid Prime: Federation Force on the Nintendo 3DS, whereas some fans would have really preferred to have the game on the Wii U. Metroid Prime: Federation Force producer Kensuke Tanabe has explained to Engadget that they were considering a Wii U version, but they ultimately thought it better suited to the Nintendo 3DS as the Wii U version would have taken up more resources.

That’s disgusting! Making a petition to cancel a game that isn’t finished yet and one that they haven’t tried yet. First it was the bitching about Tropical Freeze and now this! Sorry man, but even if it’s not finished, it’s a dumb and dull spinoff with bubble-headed characters. The fact that it “worked” for The Legend of Zelda (I’d still like it better with Twilight-like art style and HD instead of cartoonish cell-shading) does NOT mean it will work with a franchise like Metroid, even less with it’s Prime label! It’s just NOT Metroid Prime in any way, it looks as if Nintendo is trying to do the same thing Disney did to Marvel with Super Hero Squad, create some sort of dumb-looking game that appeals more to children. I LOVE Wind Waker, but with Metroid Prime, I don’t like what they did, I really was hoping for a great sequel for this beloved and amazing franchise.

Its a cheap game, cheap party game that they try cash in using title “Metroid:Prime”, using WiiU hardware it would have been too expensive to cash in with such a lame rip off. Even if this game would have come to the Wii U it would be hated, because it is not hate for been on the 3DS, but for not be the Metroid game that Nintendo needed.
The sad part is, he’s lying, there is no way this game started like a Metroid game, let alone a metroid prime game, but because of circumstances, Nintendo came, saw little to no potential in the game and seeing the lack of a Metroid game ask them to slap not only the Metroid name, but the Metroid Prime brand, give it a paint job and call it a day… At least I hope he is lying, because the idea of the saying something in the lines “Let’s make a spin off sport game of the Metroid franchise before a proper Metroid game, people will love it¡” just hurt my brain.
It does look like one of those Mii games, its like some scrapped game mode from NintendoLand or something, i wouldnt be surprised if this was supposed to be some sort of sequel for Wii or NintendoLand games….

I agree, although there was potential in Hunters. This game however doesnt hold any potential, its like that other poster said it was a project with no potential given Metroid title, probably one of those mii games.
If they were to make Metroid SpinOff the only way it would had worked as would have been as Hunters styled linear FPS styled game on WiiU with online multiplayer being focus with TDM, Capture The Flag etc. with team size being 10-20 players atleast. Basically Metroid version of COD.
Yeah, I think many people would be perfectly fine with that idea. If you’re going to do it, do it right. Maybe even make it a mode of Prime 4, make that game a beefier Echoes. I wouldn’t mind waiting even an entire generation of development time if the end result justifies it.

How ridiculous. First off, the 3ds has more than enough games to keep sales the rest of the year and into next year already, before the newly announced games.
It doesn’t need the sales boost, it is pure greed on Nintendo’s part.
The graphics look like shovel ware. If you insist on making Metroid on the 3ds, at least have Wii level visuals. If the 3ds can handle xenoblade chronicles and donkey kong, it can handle Prime Trilogy visuals easily. They aren’t.
Also, instead of 3d with junk graphics, why not go 2D side scroller?
The graphics will most likely be improved lol the game isn’t coming out until next year we have seen several examples of Nintendo games looking ok or good enough when first shown then look much better when it is done

Petitions to CANCEL the game is the stupidest thing i have ever heard. Who says that getting this game cancelled means you get a different Metroid game? This is obviously not made by the same development team that would be tasked with making Prime 4 or something similar. Getting this cancelled will accomplish absolutely nothing, if there really was going to be a new “big” Metroid game it would be made simultaneously with this and by mostly different people anyways.
