Nintendo Developers Play The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (video)

Nintendo has released a new video in which three Nintendo staffers play The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes. In the upcoming action-adventure title, three players take on the role of individual Link characters and team up to solve puzzles and battle bosses in dungeons. All three Links can stack on top of one another to create a Totem to reach new locations and solve puzzles or fight enemies. The game is scheduled to launch this fall for Nintendo 3DS.

  1. I’m really not interested in this game. Has to be the first Zelda game that I really don’t care for.

    1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

      >>>Because it’s just like the last Kirby game, it’s a game nobody wants and is nothing special>>>

  2. A small YouTube channel named Nintendo News Now unboxed the ZSS, Dark Pit, Ganomdorf and Palutena amiibos.

  3. Is there ever going to be a Zelda game where you actually play as Zelda? Getting a bit tired of Link to be honest.

    1. I never understood where that kind of demand comes from. Smash fans? Zelda isn’t a consistent character through the games and she’s not even mildly interesting most of the tim. Peach, I can understand a bit better, since a lot of spspin-offs, party and sport games flesh out her personality more than mainline Mario games, but Zelda? That’s as weird to me as someone asking why doesn’t Krystal have her own game yet, or something like that.

      1. In some games, Zelda guides Link throughout his adventure. I’m just saying, she could, I don’t know. Go along and actually help? And maybe the story can involve Zelda not getting kidnapped and instead teaming up with him to fight evil? Lol.

        1. Sure, I’m not against the idea at all (on the contrary, even, I think it would make a great series to go side-to-side, as long as they don’t just make the same game with another protagonist), I just find it funny because the only game that I can think of that does anything remotely interesting with Zelda is Spirit Tracks (and The Wind Waker, I guess), and I don’t think one game is enough to create this kind of demand.

          1. I guess so. I wish they gave her more attention. I just find it odd how the games literally have her name in the title and yet you rarely ever see her and don’t get to actually use her.

            1. That’s just Nintendo following the Disney tradition of naming the story after the princess. They didn’t realize that the formula clashes heavily with knight-rescues-princess tales, which are the actual inspiration of the franchise (along D&D, but you get my point).

      2. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

Funny you mention Krystal since Star Fox Adventures was originally supposed to Dinosaur Planet with Krystal as the main character. Sadly, Shigeru Miyamoto thought it would be a better idea to make the game part of Star Fox & have Fox be the hero instead. Maybe Star Fox Zero will lead into this becoming a reality some day. I wouldn’t mind Fox being in Krystal’s position for the Star Fox Adventures remake.

        1. I’m aware of it, but that would have been a completely different scenario. I’m talking about established female characters getting their own games.
And personally, I’d rather not have another Adventures. Zero is shaping up to be the sequel to 64 that I’ve always wanted, I wouldn’t change a thing.

But if what I’ve read & seen indicated is true, this isn’t a sequel or a story expansion but yet another remake of the original Star Fox game. (I hope I’m wrong but I’m afraid I’m right.)

            1. It is, it’s been stated numerous times, by Miyamoto himself, even. I don’t mind it, personally, as long as the gameplay feels like 64 upped to 11.

Well as you can see zelda has her own story as well. Link is just always in the spotlight. Fans want to know what is zelda’s struggles and how does she make it when link is not around. It is the legend of zelda. What makes her so legendary? In skyward sword, zelda was on her own and some how impa fucking found her, giving her, her own separate quest to follow. In Twilight princess im pretty sure zelda had to fight a little until Zant appeared. It would have been very interesting to play as ocarina of time zelda. The only zelda’s that have a personality so far is tetra and skyward sword zelda.

        1. Sure, I wouldn’t mind expanding the lore behind Zelda, I think it has great potential as a character, since she’s the one of the main trio most directly related to the Godesses in Zelda. I’m just wondering why would people ask for “The Legend of Zelda: featuring Zelda from The Legend of Zelda series” instead of a brand new game that fits the character more. What that game could be is not something that’s clear to me, but I know that it would feel much less gimmicky or tokenish to let her have her own game instead of being relegated to a gender option in the main Zelda titles.

    2. Reality is Dolphin Revolutionized Cafe NX

Link is the hero of the game, whats with those stupid demands? If you want to play as Zelda then grab HyruleWarriors. Whats next? “is there ever going to be a Metroid where you play as Space Pirate? Getting a bit tired of Samus to be honest.” Sorry to be an ass, but the main point with Link is that he is link between you and the game, Zelda is there to guide you at times, thats why main Zelda games arent played with Zelda!

        1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

          >>>The only way I could see it working would be if they did something similar to Seperate Ways in Resident Evil 4, you play as Zelda/Shiek and go through everything she goes through during those 7 years Link is absent and then of course leading to OoT Adult story line>>>

    3. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

Look to the CD-i games & there is your reason why. Like voice acting in Zelda, those games ruined it for every-fucking-one! I still have hope Nintendo will try someday with voice acting & letting us actually control Zelda herself & not just her spirit inside of a statue.

  4. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

Unless the story blows me away, this might end up being like Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks where I play it once for the story, sell it or trade it in to Gamestop, and never look back.
