Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is now available for pre-loading if you are fortune enough to own a Japanese Nintendo 3DS. Square Enix revealed that the file size of the game is 3.6GB which makes it one of the biggest titles on the Nintendo 3DS. The game is due for release on August 27th in Japan, but we are still waiting to hear whether this is going to be localised for the western market. If you reside in Japan you can purchase the game as a download card which is available at a number of locations including 7-Eleven, Lawson and Circle K Sunkus. Here’s a look at the download card as well as the Dragon Quest X-themed WebMoney Gift Card

No surprise. The game world is pretty huge.
Haha. I was like oh sweet. Oh wait its on Android. Then I look and I already bought it already. I dont even remember buying it.
The mobile versions are shit.
Yup, plus the 3ds version has new characters and content.. Too bad we’ll never see it.
We’d better see it! They’ve already got the voice thing, for the most part, the regional orchestrated soundtrack! Would love to have New 3DS analog nub support as well!
Is this a re-release? I think this is the one I have on PS2. I’ve never played it, but I looked at it and did a short preview of it. I remember liking the art style because it reminded me of the Pokémon anime.
If the original Dragon Quest VIII sold very well in the West, I don’t see any reason for Square Enix not to bring this over. But sadly stupidity isn’t just a Nintendo thing as most Japanese devs are having a case of it these days. *cough*Konami,Capcom,&Sega*cough*
