Unseen 64: Here’s The Story Behind The Canceled Rayman 4

Rayman 4 was originally in development at Ubisoft but it was ultimately cancelled in favour of Rayman Raving Rabbids. The game was set to be a ambitious and bizarre reboot for the Rayman franchise, but sadly it never came into fruition and we ended up with a Rayman party title for the original Wii instead. The investigative and informative team over at Unseen 64 have taken a look at the story behind the canceled project.

  1. Do not listen to Unseen64 trash! They write based on what they like to see happen and not what is actual …. In other words, fairytale lies ! Fairytale lies I say ya

  2. Im not sure what it is about Rayman, but I’ve never liked the games. I’ve even played a few of them over the years. I just got bored after a while and wasn’t interested in continuing. But hey, give the people’s what they want.

  3. Shame, ’twas before Rayman was dumbed down into the awkwardly quirky, generic indie fluff he is today. Might’ve been something.

    1. He was actually right but Nintendo of America decided to publish the game after he did his video. So he was right but NoA changed their opinion.

  4. While the first Rabbids game was brilliant and hilarious, I wish this would have eventually come around too. Rayman’s best is still The Great Escape (Origins and Legends are in my backlog).

    1. I agree. I still prefer The Great Escape over the others. While Origins and Legends we’re solid throwbacks to his roots, there was just something about them that I didn’t really enjoy. I’d like to see another good 3D Rayman title

  5. So… if this unseen64 always has a reliable source. Could the rumor be true that the NX isn’t even gonna be on the same level as PS4?! I’m worried.

    1. Right now theres no point in worrying over the NX. There’s so much damn loose talk going on about it, it could end up being a Toaster that tracks the quality of your day…

Best to wait till Ninty drops some troof bombs.

  6. Wow. This was depressing as shit. Phoenix poured their heart into this game and it looked like it was coming along beautifully, but ultimately Ubisoft fucked them so badly they had to close entirely… All for a lame party game. I would have loved to have seen the final result of their game if they could have finished it.

  7. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER CASE OF THE INDUSTRY BEING BIRDMEN

THERE CASUAL FALACY BULLSHIT mii too MENTALLITY A CORE RAYMAN GAME WOULD HAVE SOLD ON WII

    INDUSTRY FULL OF SHEEPLE

  8. Murfy: “See you in Rayman 4!”

Yeah. I was literally dying to play this game after Hoodlum Havoc.
Such a shame it had to hit the brakes on such short notice.
