Ye
160 XBox Ones….. At least they tried.
It seems like splatoon going to hit 1 million units in Japan by the end of the year
Well 3DS has gotten lots of anime games recently so no wonder…….
Best anime game:
Super robot wars on 3ds? I want that badly!
Wii U sales are still abismal. Interestingly, some folks over the internet celebrate the two-digits mark of Wii U sales.
Also, is impressive how in Japan handheld/mobile games dominate the market. I’ve said this several times: this trend is going to brake the industry in a short period of time. We are going to lose the complexity and completeness that are only found in home console games.
I have a sad vision for the future.
Congratulations, your “words” evolved into “opinion”!

Well there’s a reason utter garbage like CoD or angry birds gets so much money…the more simple you make a game the more people it can appeal to. That’s why most mobile games are VERY simple (clash of clans, plants vs zombies, etc…) because that way they can appeal to most of the general public (who, when it comes to gaming, are brain-dead morons). Sadly, this means that, because simple games generate tons of cash, complex games are becoming increasingly most rare. It’s survival of the fittest…except in this case the garbage specimens are top to the food chain…
Yeah, pretty much that. Mobile games are pure garbage.
Gotta agree with you, im sure that in between 10-20 years all the games are streamed through the internet too. No more actually owning the game on Hard rive or disc. These companies (Nintendo,Microsoft and Sony) are looking at the best way to gain profits, thats all they care in the end of the day, with streaming they can gain so much with next to nothing.
Also Nintendo doing mobile stuff just screams what their back up plans are if/when their homeconsole and handhelds finally tank when theres not enough to gain through that kinda business model.
Just like with the music industry, games are going to the cheap product with little to no value model. They offer you in the future these low quality streams that arent even HD resolution because internet isnt fast enough with everyone, just like with music people went over to low quality MP3 files instead of appreciating higher standards. Now its all about one hit wonders, hardly anyone cares to make full album experiences and when they do its usually brickwalled thanks to the “loudness wars” *sigh* Gaming is following the same trend with mobile one hit wonders being big money makers that these companies yearn for.
Even movies, like BluRay´s arent doing so hot because “stream, lets stream some shitty quality through Netflix, fuck about paying for well done stuff like good 1080p surround sound movies”
The 100% digital life is just ahead of us. Man, I grew up collecting NES carts and vinyls of my favorite bands. You can imagine how frustrating is not to have something physical to hold…
This is the week after Obon. The drops do not seem no where near as bad as last year for all handheld/consoles. Japan has a different lifestyles that fit handheld gaming. They simply not in the house enough for it. For anyone that loves gaming but not home much with need a portable gaming device to get their fix.
Thanks, captain obvious. People have been saying this for a good while way back during the late life of the PS2.
As with most mediums that hit the mainstream quality often makes way for quantity. Same thing happened with atari after the Time Warner takeover.
Wii U hardware sales has overtaken Vita’s.
DQ7 3DS is guaranteed a 100K sales debut.
Yoshi’s Woolly World still has legs in Japan unlike in EU. SalesGAF will be surprised.
