Shin’en Says Nintendo Platforms Are A Good Environment For Them

Shin’en is renowned for supporting Nintendo platforms as that is what they have done for many years. NWR recently had the opportunity to catch up with Martin Sauter from Shin’en about the gorgeous FAST Racing NEO which is due for release later this year. During the interview Sauter was asked what makes FAST Racing NEO a Wii U title. It was a tough question to tackle, but here’s his answer.

NWR: What makes FAST Racing NEO a Wii U game? Are there things the team could only do on a Nintendo platform?

M: It’s hard to say because we’re a Nintendo developer. We develop every game on Nintendo, so I don’t know what would be different if we would go and develop a game on another platform. We think Nintendo is a good environment for us, we’re very happy, there’s no reason to change. We want to show that it’s possible to develop a full-featured game because it has 16 tracks, 16 cars, multiplayer, local 2 and 4 player splitscreen, online multiplayer, hero mode… it’s like a full featured game, but it’s on the eShop. I think that’s the way to go, and even for Nintendo that’s something special. We think we can put something special out there, and we hope you can support us to bring those kinds of games in the future.

  1. They are capable of doing great games. Period. This news means nothing to the quasi-irrelevant situation Nintendo is right now.

Having said that, let the fanboyism and overreaction starts in 3, 2, 1…

  2. I love the work they did with their current game an am going to get it hard working developers deserve success

  3. I wish their games keep on getting success they deserve in order for them to support Nintendo in the future, they already have ported Nano Assault Neo to Ps4, wouldnt be surprising if they did the same to Fast Racing Neo, if it sells poorly.

  4. What they meant is that they have talent to push things beyond than waste millions of dollars on a underpowered pc that can’t even reach both 1080p and 60 frames.

    1. Somehow your comment reminds me of FFXV……….Funny thing is if they would had cheaped out it would have chance to be epic like this:

  5. WHAT MAKES IT A WIIU GAME

WELL THE FUCKING OBVIOUS THING TO ANYONE WITH EYES IN THETE HEAD AND A FUNCTIONING BRAIN

CONTROLLER CHOICE SOMETJING ONLY WIIU HAS,YOU CAN PLAY WITH EVERY SINGLE WIIU COMPATABLE CONTROLLER

ITS ALSO EXCLUSIVE THAT MAKES IT A WIIU GAME…..

I LOVE HOW SHIN’IN ARE DESTROYING TH UNDERPOWERED MYTH,WITH A TINY ESHOP FILE GAME AND A DEV TEAM ABOUT 5 MAN STRONG

  6. LOL NO CONTROLLER CHOICE,NO MOUSE POINTER,NO GYROSCOPE MOUSE,NO TOUCH SCREEN

BUT YOUR CONSOLE IS NEXT GEN

    GIMMICKSHOCK4

  7. “it’s like a full featured game, but it’s on the eShop.”

I know this is not the point of the article, but I felt I needed to point out how out of date this comment is.

I have spend Hundreds of dollars on the BEST, Full Size, Full Featured games on the WiiU, From Smash to Zelda to Mario, DK, Bayonetta, Splatoon, etc … and I don’t own a Single WiiU disk. I have gone 100% Digital on WiiU and 3DS. EVERYTHING is on E-Shop.

With rumors spreading that NX ‘might’ be a console with no Optical Drive, the idea that Downloadable games are not seen as Real, Full games is out of touch with market reality. The vast majority of game sales are on Mobile, which has no Physical copies.

A game is not judged by if it is on a Disk or not any more (except by a stubborn, “Purist” minority).

Sure … Give me F-Zero/Wipeout, since Nintendo seems uninterested in doing it themselves. This game looks genuinely awesome, and since Project Cars bailed because they could not make it look pretty enough (seriously … I just wanted to Drive Fast Cars in a Sim environment. I don’t care if I can’t drive in realistic night rain. Whyyyyyy??? ) or some BS like that, there is a HUUUUGE gap in the Racing Genre that needs to be filled.

I think I’ll pick this one up for sure. Zooooom!

  8. SHINL’IN DIDNT MEAN AS IN FULL GAME DISC VS ESHOP

THEY MEAN IN FILE SIZE AND INDIE STATUS AS ITS A FULLY BLOWN GAME BUILT WITIN A SMALLER BUDGET AND PACKAGE

SHIN’IN WERE A ESHOP WII DVELOPER

HE ISNT SAING FULLGAMES DONT COME DIGITALLY HE IS SYING WE AS A ESHOP INDIE HAVE DELIVERED A FULLY BLOWN GAME
