You may have noticed an increasing number of news reports detailing Splatoon hacks on the internet. Nintendo is clearly aware of the situation and has started handing out system bans to the perpetrators. If you weren’t aware of the situation, hackers had gained access to a number of unreleased character models and weapons and were also causing save file deletions. This has now been stamped out by the Kyoto based company.
Splatoon System Bans Being Given To Hackers

Haha
Finaly i can play again i went crazy from waiting
No wonder. That’s probably the reason for all the fucking connection errors today. I’m sick of that shit happening. Especially in rank mode
I know right? Losing rank points because of a disconnection caused by an error on Nintendo’s end is absolutely infuriating. It’s actually one of the reasons why I’ve stopped playing the game, honestly.
I’m thinking about just quitting like you. Rank mode is practically the only mode I play. And it pisses me off when when every fucking rank has a Damn connection unstable message. Like bitch no, it’s your servers that’s fucking unstable.
just backup your save, simple as that.
No, it’s one of the players. Splatoon, like most of Nintendo’s online games, works by peer-to-peer connections.
Doesn’t change much about Nintendo being the ones to blame, as it was them who chose P2P over dedicated servers, which resulted in these kinda problems to happen. And these kinda problems, as in, losing rank points caused by something you have no influence on, are unacceptable in a competitive game, in my opinion.
I’d stress it’s more a fact than an opinion because any person that loves competitive games should agree with what you said.
This is what killed MK8 for me. Splatoon is a little more skill based than that, but it still does not make it any better.
A LITTLE more skill based? Being good at Splatoon takes infinitely more skill than MK8- all MK8 has to do to ruin your day is not like you and give you nothing but coins for an entire race.
Considering this is peer-to-peer, they really should have added a regional mode. Maybe the game would be pretty barren though, cause all I ever seemed to get paired with in ranked was Japanese players anyway.
DIE HACKER SCUM!! Or we could just system ban them… I guess that works too…
Good, now I feel safe playing Splatoon again.
Nice, now i’m a go buy this game on Birthday
Haha, that’s what they get. Although someone with disposable income can continue to buy systems just for the hell of it.
Theres this guy on YouTube that does videos of him just trolling people. Hes acumulated a whole stack of 360’s because he keeps getting his systems banned, but he just keeps buying new ones, and continues to troll people.
Now that guy is definitely a troll! No doubt about that! And he’s the worst kind of troll, and a glorified loser, to boot!

Banning or not, it’ll be back. Its hard to ever fully block out hackers in shooters.
Yep. Skilled hackers bent on world domination (lol) will find a way around this.
Indeed. No threat of bans ever stops some people. I can’t even count how many times I have encountered hackers in TF2 lately despite all the anti-cheat stuff.
I love hacking but not for things like this. Nobody should be hacking and ruining a game for other players. Thankfully most hackers don’t use homebrew to do things like this or pirate games. I’m glad Nintendo is taking action against them. It can be all fun to hack, like when I did it on my Wii with City Folk (a legitimate copy). I didn’t try ruining other players’ towns or game. I ran through stuff, made myself huge, got on roofs, floated. It was amusing, we all had some laughs. I also edited the whole layout of my town. Did it ruin anyone’s game? Absolutely not. I played with people that knew I was doing it as well as someone that did it as well. But of course you have people who do want to ruin your game and will do so knowing full well what will happen. It just ruins everything.
Good thing too. But I’m still not buying this.
I played Splatoon for about three days before I got bored with it. It’s a fun game, don’t get me wrong, but the lack of content at release really made me lose interest early on. That and not being able to communicate with teammates, or pick your own team….
Splatoon is good, but it could have been great.
I can tell when a game is going to be fun without playing it. As fun as I’m sure Splatoon is, there is too much stuff about the game I don’t like so not gonna buy it ever. Maybe Splatoon 2 will correct the mistakes of the first.
Nintendo “Nintendo-fying” good shit for only dumbass fandork drones and idiots would blindly defend. They clearly rushed the game out AFTER what they just said about rushed games being bad. That’s why I got sick of their hypocrite BS and stupid ass fans agreeing with it, it’s fucking embarrassing and you know what? Other fanbases talking shit about them were right after all these years.
