Nintendo of America has started to send out demo codes for their next Zelda adventure The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes on Nintendo 3DS. The email also comes with two additional codes for your friends to get a taster of the game. Here’s what’s said within the email that is currently going out to Nintendo fans.
Congratulations! You’ve been selected to try out The Legend of Zelda™: Tri Force Heroes game before it’s released. Here’s how it works: Use the code below to download the demo. Once downloaded, you can play the available dungeon with two friends* via local play. (Other modes such as single-player and download play won’t be available.) Really? I loved Ridley’s design from that game. Probably the best Ridley design in all of the Metroid franchise, in my opinion, and I loved how that design was used for Smash Bros and Dead or Alive.
Shame. That design of Ridley would have been perfect to shrink down so Ridley could be a playable character that didn’t look stupid shrunken. In fact, they could always say Ridley looked that way in Other M because it was still young while the old Ridley design from past Metroid games could quite literally have been Ridley being old.
Liked Ridley’s design & wasn’t bothered by her saying the Baby. Just annoyed by the fact Samus had a PTSD attack with absolutely no build up whatsoever to it. That’s terrible writing. Especially when you take into account the many times she’s faced Ridley even after battles that should have resulted in his death. Not even a bloody flashback to show Ridley was really dead this time. Even a few lines of Samus going “No! You can’t be alive! Not this time! I killed you for good last time!” would have sufficed before her having a panic attack.

Yeah pretty much. Sometimes they skip the fucking important people who actually care.
Pretty much everybody gets it. If they only wanted the “important people,” then they’d only send codes to people in the industry, which is usually the case and they tend to get the full game. This isn’t like an open Beta or anything where we’re providing genuine feedback to help Nintendo make a better game or test their servers when traffic is heavy (like the Splatoon demo). It’s just a demo – Nintendo gives us codes like we’re a special customer or best friend or something, we play the demo, and we end up buying the game, maybe.

Like Federation Farce, it’s a shitty game for the franchise it’s part of. For someone who could care less about respecting a franchise’s established graphics, gameplay, and/or story as long as it’s “fun,” you just don’t understand how we core fans think or feel. Like I said, you don’t get it. If you did, you’d realize this game is exactly like Federation Farce: filthy casual trash trying to use an established franchise’s name & success to help it garner sales. With that in mind, Chibi Metroid & Fashion Show Zelda aren’t that different at all. But go right ahead. No one is stopping people like you from wanting to play these mockbusters when they release.
I gotta jump in here against my better judgement… I totally get where you’re coming from with Federation Force. Last Metroid title we got was Other M and it left a horrible taste in all of our mouths. So, eagerly waiting for news on the next Metroid title that will hopefully cleanse the nasty that was Other M… we get a spin off multi-player game… I have my own issues with this as well but I’ve come to terms with the idea because it could be a small glimpse into the Prime universe outside Samus’ eyes. It could be interesting and all the elements are there; Space Pirates, Metroids, and Samus will make an appearance. But! That’s not what I wanted to get into… Tri Force Heroes is fantastic. If you enjoyed Link Between Worlds and Four Swords; you’ll get a kick out of this game. Plus, we’ve had great Zelda titles recently and a huge one in the works. This side title isn’t coming in the middle of a Zelda drought. I played the demo and had a blast with it. It was like playing Link Between Worlds with two other folks in real time. It’s interesting, engaging, and fun! I wouldn’t write this one off because it’s actually a lot of fun.
While it’s not in the same situation as Federation Fart, I still hate both games equally. It’s so stupid saving a silly warddrobe over something more important like actually saving a princess & her kingdom. Seriously, this kingdom’s royal family’s priorities is royally fucked up. I’m not too fond of the king’s design, either. I get a troubling CDi Zelda vibe from it for some reason. Bleh… More importantly, it’s another game in the long list of babysitting/overprotection from Nintendo. “Oh voice chat is evil because people might get bossed around! We need to protect everyone from the cruel, cruel world! Making a feature that turns voice chat off is out of the question!” Like Splatoon, the kiddy protection can kiss my ass no matter how fun it is. Being held back because a small minority can’t handle it or too lazy to mute the feature is not what I call fun.
I’ve got my own opinions concerning voice chat but won’t dive into that pool because they’re vastly different than yours. The fashion concept is bizarre for sure, but that’s what is so intriguing to me. This bat-crap crazy idea actually made it into the game! The designs are so frightful and off putting it makes me want to explore this new world even more. It’s different, and that’s great for a game that is not really supposed to be taken seriously in the Zelda canon. It’s a side game, so it’s better off as a strange departure from what we would expect. If it had canonical story bits I would assume fans would be even more frustrated because then they HAVE to snag this one to keep track of the timeline.
