We found out yesterday that the special Pokken Tournament controller for the Wii U is heading to the west. Now we’ve got a good look at the unique controller’s packaging. Amazon has the controller listed with a March 16th release date and it is available for pre-order. Just be aware that the pad only works with Pokken Tournament!

I’m getting one of these. D-pads on any controller but the dualshocks throughout the years have been ass. The wii u pro controller has a good analog stick, but the D-pad is flimsy. The D-pad on this looks solid and responsive. For this type of game I believe this is what is needed as unlike in smash there is no reason it seems to only slightly tilt an analog at any point, in that case you want max response binary inputs for movement too. Analogs will just be a hassle and give you worse response on movement.
