JRPG company Mistwalker appear to be back and ready to develop a new role playing title for current generation consoles. Mistwalker founder Hironobu Sakaguchi showcased some concept art of his new title during a creative media master class at UH West Oʻahu Library in Hawaii. Gematsu reports that the the artwork is illustrated by Kimihiko Fujisawa. Sakaguchi says he wants the art style to look pencil drawn while still being 3D. The mystery Mistwalker game should full be revealed sometime later this year.
If it’s a console game planning to be revealed next year, I seriously doubt it’s coming to the Wii U. I’d love to have it, though, that artstyle has ‘Nintendo’ written all over it.
This looks like Bravely Default. I’m assuming it will be in a more fully realized world. I’ll be keeping my eyes on this one.
Bravely Default and FFIII/Four Heroes of Light instantly came to mind too. That’s what made me think it’ll be a portable game. I guess ‘consoles’ could be interpreted either way, but the sentence makes it sound like it’s a multiplatform title. Might be a digital game.
Mr. Sakaguchi, please let me know what console should I buy.
If it’s not even being shown till next year then it’s definitely coming to the NX or skipping Nintendo entirely.
Mistwalker is not financially stable enough to develop a large title without publisher backing, especially after Lost Odyssey. I doubt it’s a retail release.
According to info I’ve read on another website, it will probably be coming to a current gen console. If that’s true, the NX would be out of question.
But yea, it’s all rumours at this point, so, as always, it’s best to just wait and see. :)
We all know it’s not coming to Nintendo. It happens all the time in these hopeless articles.
If this is by some chance a sequel to The Last Story and if it’s going multiplat, hopefully it won’t suffer the same fate as Epic Mickey 2. That sequel was a train wreck.
If it’s by some chance an exclusive to a Nintendo console because Nintendo will be helping with the publishing rights, let’s hope the infection/corruption running rampant within Nintendo does not censor it to please the whiny SJWs & other American reject filth. Purify yourself, Nintendo, of the NoA infection!
