Nintendo Europe has tweeted to fans to remind them that the intriguing Wii Street U for Wii U which is powered by Google will be discontinued on March 31st. The application sadly failed to take off, so it’s not too surprising to hear news once again that it is being discontinued.
[Reminder] The Wii Street U powered by Google service will be discontinued on 31/03/2016. More info: https://t.co/mrqOJxoZIE

This let’s you know that Nintendo doesn’t give a fuck about the wii u anymore. discontinuing probably the only feature that they “thought” highlights the wii u’s. I admit it. The Bitch U is a fail. Good console but a fail. Yeah I said it Bitch U.
They’re probably discontinuing it because not many people used it. People buy gaming systems for games, not for Google Earth.
I didn’t even know this thing existed.
Yeah I know that but at e3 when the wii u, announced supposedly this was highlighted as the big feature of the Wii U. They even had weak ass dlc for this. And what happens to the people who bought the DLC will they get their money back or fucking what.
How do you make DLC for google earth? What did it do?
Panorama veiw or some shit like that. It was like a virtual tour

This isn’t apart of Google at all… These were separate applications.
I’ve never even heard of this app? Was this a Europe thing only?
Nah, don’t think so.
Can’t say I’m too bothered, I haven’t used it since it released, and all I used it for was checking out my home.
The GamePad use was rather nive though, but who checks maps on their console.
This would have been useful to plan out you Pokemon GO adventures I suppose
I never used it, so did most people
I didn’t even know this existed in the first place.
Very cool, too bad in a way, but it has to be simply because people just weren’t into it, much like the Tvii or whatever it was. Pretty good idea but had no real application that made sense
I kind of miss the TVii app. I used to draw hitler mustaches on the cast of Seinfeld and re-post them,
lol good times
I miss the TVii community on Miiverse. It would have made a nice “General Discussion” community. But Nintendo hates having a social media app being used for social activity. Go figure.
I forgot about Wii Street U…who uses that?
That´s too bad. I love that app. It was free for North America for a while.
It´s great to check places all around the world (and specially when I´m going to some particular neighbourhood in my city that I don´t know) hehe
that’s apps was not free for Europe (I need to double check but I am confident) which may explain why nobody or few purchase that apps. Then you have paid DLC. In the age of google map and google earth which are free. Why anyone would even consider buying this apps?? it does not make any business sense what so ever.
Personally that apps like TVii are half-baked idea that Nintendo should have think before they release the wii U. Saying that I really would like to know how Nintendo do their marketing because it seems for me they have a lot of data but don’t bother to use them…… If I have one dream related to Nintendo it would be me having a chat with their marketing people in UK and Europe (and having Nintendo Nippon during this meeting) and tell them to get their P45 (or European equivalent) after I tell them some home truths.
