Today is the 20th anniversary of the release of the original generation of Pokemon. Part of Nintendo’s celebrations for today, which was dubbed Pokemon Day, included a party that was held at the Nintendo NY store, which was recently renovated. Feel free to check out the images that Nintendo released by looking at the gallery below.

  1. As long as you don’t try to throw a Pokemon themed birthday party at your apartment near this store & ask your friends to help pay for the refreshments, you are more than welcomed to stop by at the Nintendo NY Store. Otherwise, get ready to be hit with a lawsuit. lol

  2. well i’m glad they are showing us images for this anniversary and i like how alot of people are enjoiyng pokemon in the Nintendo NY store.

Happy 20th Anniversary Pokemon your adventures will never end.

  4. Pretty damn good day thus far. Had fun early in the morning at my local TRU with some other fans, listened to loads of the best pokemon music, played through half the gyms in blue, enjoyed some twitch stream here and there, sorted my generations cards thus far, scored a pokemon blue guide online for 20 bucks, and now I’m waiting on the animation marathon on twitch to start up and I’ll drink myself silly out of this fine, fine day.

  6. I got to compete in the Early Access Pokken Tournament. I made it through the first round and got destroyed in the second round by Charizard. That same Charizard went on to win the tournament. Charizard is SO POWERFUL, he had moves that would take like a quarter of your life. My poor Pikachu could not handle him. I had a lot of fun though, good times!

  7. They had a dancing Pikachu, and Pokken Tournament!?

Well I was out there at around 9am. No one said anything about a god-damn line! I left the line at 10am to go to work, but came back at 5:30pm. Finally made it in around 7:30pm.

I bet they also showed off Masuda and some Pokemon Sun & Moon artwork.
