Rumor: Capcom Has Requested A Trademark Registration For “Monster Hunter Generations”

The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), which is the European patents and trademarks database, may have leaked another game. Capcom has requested a registration for a trademark for “Monster Hunter Generations”. The news comes from the same site that reported on the Pokemon Sun & Moon leak, which we covered previously.

Once again, this is not official word, so there’s plenty of room for doubt. If Capcom or Nintendo eventually announce this, we’ll let you know.

  1. Either this is really just a fake and riding off of the success of the previous rumor from today, or this is real and makes me mad that people won’t stop spoiling the surprise every time, a mere day before a direct (also, protip, don’t trademark a secret title before announcing it).

    1. I’d trademark 7 really similar titles and spread them out throughout a month, then announce it officially 7 months later. I think that’d work.

    1. When it comes down to it, it’s probably better to have people freaking out about a trademark right before it’s officially announced than months prior, nagging PR on a daily basis for more info, release date info, explanations, etc.

  3. I think this is the Frontier online collection, but I’m hoping I’m wrong and they announce a collection version instead, because I just don’t like always online! That’s just a personal preference.
