You may recall that it was confirmed that Splatoon‘s next Splatfest will be held this weekend. However, new Splatfest rules will also debut that same weekend. The Vibe Meter will be replaced with a Splatfest Power Ranking. The rank’s base is the participant’s Ranked Battle ranking, but the ranking changes depending on how well you do during the event. The game’s matchmaking will try to match players of a similar ranking,. At the end of each match, The player and/or team with the highest ranking will be able to gain, or lose, more points.
In other words, Splatoon is getting a better rank system. The system already launched in Japan last weekend, when they had a Dragon Quest-inspired Splatfest, so this is why the this weekend’s new rules are making their debut in the west only.
That sounds good. Hopefully I can set foot on the Splatoon planet. My mission log has been too full for leisure lately.
