Rumour: New Mega Man Game Coming Based On Upcoming Man Of Action Cartoon

Capcom is reportedly developing a brand new entry in the Mega Man franchise based on the upcoming Man of Action cartoon. The Capcom release is apparently being developed for Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC. A second version of the game is reportedly being outsourced to an undisclosed company for the Nintendo 3DS and mobile platforms. This is just a rumour at present but if we hear anything concrete we shall let you know.

      1. Apparently there was some care that I was was first since it got a response. More importantly, it seem like you cared that I was first since you were the one who responded. Ha. Don’t be mad, you can be first else where.

        Number 1
        Number 1

    1. Despite not having one, I’m still feeling that hype ;p Though, I don’t want to get my hope up due to Capcom’s previous track record when it comes to cancelling Megaman games 😕😖 Plus, who knows of its even genuine. I’ll keep my eyes on this, though.

  1. Oh look, Capcom knows Mega Man exists again.

But it’s going to be another cross promotional game like the Sonic Boom titles. Hopefully this game will be much better than them.

      1. Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric got negative reviews, same went for Shattered Crystal. My main worry with this is whether or not Capcom will make sure the game itself is high quality.

Videos games based on TV shows always had a bad track record before and Capcom did develop their fair share of bad Mega Man titles (Mega Man X7 being an infamous example).

  2. Okay, the comments are looking stupid on here. You people bitch and moan about Mega Man not coming out, and you complain for him like whores in heat. Now Capcom is considering a Mega Man, and people are bitching about how Capcom wants to bring him out. WTF.

    1. Or people are wearily about the fact that this is a game that adapts a cartoon we never seen yet.

Remember how good of a game Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric was and how that was meant to promote the show? Nothing wrong with being cautious about a game that could be shit with poor developmental decisions.

      1. Please don’t compare sonic to mega man again. Mega Man didn’t have horrible games. They can all have a “I enjoyed it” stamp or approval. Capcom doesn’t have love from me, but no way did they kill the series like Sonic got killed by the sonic team. Dudes weren’t even a team.

    2. I think you are misunderstanding my comment mate. Nothing about says complaining at all, but mere surprise at the fact that we are finally getting a new non-mobile Mega Man game. But given that it’s going to be based on the cartoon, that is where I’m slightly worried about the results.

Most video games based on shows/films can range from mediocre to decent based on experience and reviews. Some good examples would be Cory in the House, any Cartoon Network video game, Ben-10, any Pixar/Disney film video game, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, and so forth. The only real exceptions I can think of that were good are Disney Infinity, a wide variety of anime games (Dragon Ball Z and One Piece for example), most Star Wars games, Kingdom Hearts (which is more of an original IP with crossover elements), Epic Mickey to some extent, any classic Mickey Mouse game, and some Alien games.

What I hope is that this game can be the polar opposite of what happened with Sonic Boom (which I can say that both games were not really helping Sonic’s already infamous reputation). I guess the best thing to do is wait and see before we automatically think it’s good or bad.

      1. I actually didn’t write my comment to you. Ma bad, bro. And I understand what you mean. Capcom knows what fans want with MegaMan, so I trust them with their IP. Resident Evil was a shit hole and a new dude took over. despite the shit capcom did with street fighter 5 and marvel vs Capcom 3, they aren’t as bad like fucking Konami!

        1. No worries, mate. I too have some faith in Capcom doing much better with this than Sega. I’m actually happy that they are actually doing good with the Blue Bomber instead of leaving him for dead. Give Street Fighter and Resident Evil a break and show some love to their iconic robot hero. You do have a point, Konami are the suck of the Earth compared to Capcom with everything they’ve pulled recently. :)

          1. I’ll play the waiting game for Konami. That slot machine of Metal Gear Solid 3 has just way too much Fox Engine footage and gameplay just to be a slot machine. I’m thinking that is going to be a game down the road. And I don’t put pass remakes of Metal Gear Solid 1, Metal Gear 1 and MetalGgear 2: Solid Snake. It was their biggest franchise and don’t see them moving forward unless it is with that game. Silent Hill is dead to them anyways.

        1. What is so wrong with wanting to see a property like MegaMan treated with respect?
I feel like Nintendo is the only ones who have done MegaMan justice in years.. he was awesome in Smash4!

            1. Really? Megaman games were better on such and such.. console?
Megaman games are not good NOR bad based on what hardware they are on.
Megaman games are good when the developer puts real effort into them.

              1. I honestly felt that the X series was the best with Mega Man. Some don’t. Sony hardware have given Mega a jump in graphics and gameplay in my opinion. Do I think the classics are bad? Not at all. 2 is cconsider by most as the best and that’s the NES one.

                1. I love the X series on up until the PS1 games were made… the X games on PS2 looked far better to me though.

Sorry buy after they pulled the plug on Megaman Legends 3 do people honestly think Crapcom will go ahead with this?

  4. I’m still hoping for a Mega Man Collection “physical disc” for Wii U/NX that features all 10 Mega Man games. I can’t figure out why the Legacy Collection only features the 6 original NES games in the series? Even the Anniversary Collection from 2004 featured 8 Mega Man games (even though they screwed up the controls in the Gamecube version by getting the jump and fire buttons backwards).

  5. The best megaman are on famicom and super famicom. Now there the battle network I haven’t tried despite having the rom for years. Anyway I just hope Capcom reboot the series in a good way and look at how mighty 9 failed.

  6. honestly id rather see a 3D side scroller remake of the first 6 games (some kind of cell shaded art) then go from their updating the other games. i think they are old enough that remaking them from the ground up would be just as effective. if not more
