Dragon Quest Composer Receives World Record

Koichi Sugiyama has composed music for nearly all the game’s in the Dragon Quest series. He’s been seen as one of the best video game composers. However, now he’s been given a World Record to honour his contribution to the industry. 85 year old Sugiyama has been recognised as the oldest video game composer in the world. Despite this, he hasn’t shown any sign of stopping. Sugiyama is currently working on the soundtrack to Dragon Quest XI.

  1. I haven’t played much of Dragon Quest (since I know that that’s going to take up so much of my time; Xenoblade and Animal Crossing certainly are), but the music is definitely great.

I wonder if Koji Kondo will appear in there some day.
