Rollers at the ready: Splatoon players all across Europe can battle it out in the first ESL Go4Splatoon tournament, kicking off at 16:00 CEST this Sunday. Powered by ESL, the world’s largest esports company, the six-month season of tournaments will culminate with a grand final showdown in 2017, where the winning team from each month’s cup will compete to win Nintendo’s next video game system, code-named NX.
The first weekly cup takes place this Sunday afternoon, with players on the cup-winning team each receiving an item of official Splatoon clothing signed by members of the Splatoon development team. The top teams of each weekly tournament will earn Go4Splatoon ranking points, and each calendar month, the eight teams with the most ranking points will proceed to the following month’s Europe Monthly Final, with September’s highest-ranked teams going through to the monthly cup in mid-October.
As the season goes on, the stakes get higher, as the victorious side in each monthly cup will proceed to the grand final in 2017. This ultimate splat showdown will reveal Europe’s best Splatoon team, and each player on the winning side will receive Nintendo’s next video game system, code-named NX.
Teams ready to put their skills to the test can sign up for the first tournament on the ESL Go4Splatoon website, where further details about tournaments and full rules and regulations can also be found.

I would be S but then I had a streak of like 40 losses (wich is pretty much statisticly impossible) then you can imagine that I was kinda done with splatoon. PLayed it again this summer pretty much had a streak of wins again so I believe I’m in middle rank A again. but I have very little time to play.

The fact that you can win one through a Splatoon tournament strongly suggests a new Splatoon game will be available during the launch window, methinks.
They’re giving dev support to Splatoon but not Smash, which has a far bigger competitive scene?

I placed in the top 70 (of 200) last Splatfest. It would be cool to have a permanent team that won’t disconnect or change up with a crappy team. Too bad this tourney inst in the U.S
Im wondering how the abilities would work out in this tourney though… Like… would everyone have to stick with a lame setup of clothing the entire time? Or can the players request the Devs to make their setup?? I cant live with out the “Cold Blooded”, “Stealth Jump”, “Ink Saver”, “Ink Recovery”!

Sony’s PS4 Pro has been revealed. The time of the Nintendo NX is at hand.
A giveaway for something that hasn’t been revealed yet. While I know it’s not gonna be given away til sometime next year, why would anyone take part in this thing right now for something they might not even keep if it turns out to not be what they wanted? Hm. I guess they could always sell it for close to the price of the NX since it’ll be brand new & unused if they don’t actually want it.
