Good news for those of you in the United States who woke up early this morning as pre-loaded copies of Paper Mario Colour Splash unlocked last night in full. The news flooded Twitter and some early birds managed to pre-load the game shortly before Nintendo took the option down. Paper Mario Colour Splash isn’t due to be released until two weeks time so this will come as a blow to Nintendo as spoilers are bound to get out.

                  1. Ocarina was a great game, masterpiece even. But for me, ALTTP was always my personal favorite. And when Twilight Princess came out I felt it did everything Ocarina did but just a little better. Problem with Ocarina today is everyone is so damn Nostalgic about it. It doesn’t hold up to Twlight Princess in any way. Overworld is better, dungeons are better, characters are better… Twilight Princess has its problems as well, just less of them.

                    1. I like the story in Ocarina Of Time better than Twilight Princess. I actually got emotional a few times when playing OOT. But only mildly sad in Twilight Princess. The games that tug at my heart strings are always the ones that remain the best in my memories. The very first time I played Twilight Princess, I didn’t care much for it. And I hated Midna. She annoyed me more than Navi EVER did. But the second time I played it (many years later), I liked it a lot more than I did the first time. And I finally stopped bashing it (same with Majora’s Mask). But it still paled in comparison to Ocarina Of Time. And Midna still annoyed me.

            1. Except the original Zelda came out MUCH BEFORE Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. Color Splash came 16 years AFTER the original, and it’s still inferior.

              Terrible analogy, bud.

              1. fine my analogy is backwards but My point still stand just because something doesn’t meet another game in the series in terms of greatness doesnt mean it sucks

          1. Oh please. Maybe TTYD, but Paper Mario 64? I just finished playing through that game a couple months ago. It was fun, pretty damn good, but it was no masterpiece. Color Splash (dumb name) actually looks better, with the exception of the battle mechanics… I have high hopes for this game. I think its going to suprise people just like SM3DW did.

                1. Then maybe you didn’t follow the gaming media back then. Because everyone hated the game from first appearance. The early previews gave off some really bad vibes. But when the game released everyone like it… hence, suprised… Maybe you were’nt suprised, but most were.

              1. There are very few games that can hold my attention long enough for me to 100% them, SM3DW was one of them. Everyone thought it was horrible from early previews, and it was getting very bad press. But when it released it got 9’s and 10,s on nearly every media site online. Same thing could happen with Color Splash. (dumb name) If you didn’t like the game, your part of a very small club… There are always going to be haters, thats just life. The majority of people were pleasantly suprised by the game.

          1. There is nothing objective about the bad battle mechanics.. It’s pretty much a fact that the game has bad battle mechanics… The game might suck, all of you are probably right, i’m just old fashioned I guess. I just like to actually PLAY a game before I bash it.

      1. Honestly, it probably could have been awesome if they kept the rpg elements and partners. Also it be nice if stuff like this was just part of the overworld and not part of combat (unless a specific item)

    1. Sadly they wont. Which sucks for a lot of the older fans, but some of us still like the paper mario games. They arent masterpieces like ttyd but they are still decent games.

    2. I don’t think they will. They are obviously trying to seperate the Paper Mario series from the rpg genre. Don’t know why really, everything was better that way. Color Splash (dumb name) may be a horrible game. I’m just going to play it before drawing that conclusion. But I will agree that the battle mechanics are terrible… Item based cards that get thrown away after one use? Just horrible. And I don’t know why they did that with all the bad press Sticker Star got… Why would you replicate a game that got bad ratings? Anyway, Im still going to play it because its the only game Nintendo is releasing this Holiday….

  1. I want this game, but I won’t be able to get it this year. With the NES mini coming out, that other SEGA Genesis one I heard about with 80 built-in games, plus the fact that I just ordered the NES AVS from RetroUSB, my money is all tapped out this year. Christmas doesn’t exist for me this year (again).
