GameStop Ireland has joined the growing list of retailers now taking pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch. The retailer is advertising the console for €499.99 which converts to around £350. This is no doubt just a placeholder price just like GAME so don’t be too alarmed. We shall find out pricing and a release date for the device on January 12th.
GameStop Ireland Opens Up Nintendo Switch Pre-orders

lmao if the price is real Nintendo Switch is gonna be a huge fail
The price might be a placeholder. A lot of companies use placeholder prices for pre-order products that don’t have an official price yet. They usually use a higher amount then expected to play it safe, so that the item will end up costing less, instead of higher than they originally listed. I’m thinking that the price is going to be anything between $230-$350.
If it’s 230 bucks, I give Switch 2 years before we start hearing the same excuses Wii U got right before it went to Shitsville.
I hope I’m wrong, though.
They have had that their since that reveal video
” €499.99 which converts to around £350″
might wanna check the internet first…

today’s rate: 499.99 EUR = 425.473GBP
75GBP difference
According to Google, that price in Ireland converts to 523.95 US dollars. If Switch is 500 bucks, I’ll so take that price because that means great power & great features beyond portability!
My retailer is listing it for 999€, must be helluva device.
I’m expecting it to cost about 350€ here, with a game. And 300$ to 350$ in the US.
This is old. I pre-ordered mine in GameStop (here in Ireland) two months ago.
But GameStop Ireland always had a pre-order though? O_o
no wonder nintendo is f**k in Europe with those greedy b*****d who for some reasons inflate the bloody price. I really hope the damn thing is region free so that when I go to Hong Kong or Singapore I can get it cheaper.
