Although the newly released Nintendo Switch doesn’t have a browser option yet, the team at Polygon have found a workaround to allow you to browse Facebook and Twitter.
They have advised that the workaround isn’t perfect, but it does work. It works by going into the User Settings and selecting the option that allows you to post to social media, then linking your Facebook or Twitter account. After this, you’ll need to click the link on the Facebook/Twitter option, and then you’ll be presented with an additional two options. If you’re looking to browse pages, you can click on the links at the bottom of the screen. However, it’s worth noting that without a cursor it will be difficult to navigate.
Polygon has also uploaded screenshots to help out, as the explanation in writing might not appear straight forward without seeing how it works, you can check them out here.
It’s unknown yet whether an internet browser will be added to the Switch at some stage. Nintendo’s president Tatsumi Kimishima advised previously, “In terms of the Internet browser, since all of our efforts have gone toward making Switch an amazing dedicated video game platform, it will not support it, at least at launch.”

Sounds pretty awesome to me. Thank you for sharing this source, Natalie.
You’re welcome. :)
This is so awesome. Thank you for writing this article Natalie c:
Even though I never used the Browser with any of the Nintendo family of systems myself and I won’t use it with the Switch either I’m pretty sure if enough people keep pushing for it they’ll add a Browser in a future system update.
wtf you never used dual scren brousing on wiiu
search the web on the wiiu game pad, whilst playing yt on the tv fl;ipping tabs around it was great
Nope never had a need for it personally. I have my PC my phone my tablet and many other devices for all my internet needs, the Wii U was a games machine to me and nothing else.
Sounds like the browser is already there it just needs a small patch to make it live.
I want to use YouTube and ebay on the Switch (I can’t even purchase items on ebay when using the Wii U Gamepad ever since ebay was remodeled. It never goes to the final checkout screen). I hope an official internet browser isn’t too far off.
This is really cool! You can use it to play YouTube videos that were posted on Facebook. o: The switch can stream online videos PERFECTLY!
“However, it’s worth noting that without a cursor it will be difficult to navigate.”
Wouldn’t it be the same as when browsing the net with any other tablet that also don’t have a cursor?
I noticed that myself when I linked my Facebook. Didn’t bother with it, though, as I just wanted to finish setting up the Switch so I could play Zelda: BotW as soon as possible. But yeah, since you could browse Facebook or Twitter doing this, I’d say there is an internet browser already on the Switch and probably just needs an update to make it fully usable as an app.
