The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Nintendo is desperately trying to ramp up production for the Nintendo Switch due to fervent demand for the system. This means they are battling huge firms such as Apple for production parts. However the fight may not end well for Nintendo because rivals such as Apple can offer better terms and issue larger orders than the Kyoto-based company.
“Analysts say rivals for the sought-after parts can often offer better terms than Nintendo. Makers of data-center servers tend to use newer and higher-margin components, while smartphone makers issue larger orders than Nintendo.”
||The First Order will not bow down to anyone or anything, even if it means cutting off our own heads to increase production…||
Does that mean your head has the parts we need, Commander? Let’s look up your specs… 😝
Just Google HP DV6000.

Only I am allowed to playfully mock His Grace’s processing power deficiencies! 😝
||My parts would be enough for 4.8 gazillion Switches but this was only if it would come to such an extreme situation…||
||Obviously the least ranked would be first in line though…||
Why are you looking at me like that again, Your Grace?
You better scooch over friend, cuz’ this train ain’t ever stoppin’.

I fail to see what a locomotive has to do with The Commander’s specs. 😝

*stares* Hmmmmmm… OH MY GODS! Are you saying The Commander is STEAM POWERED?? Evil Commander!! Get your Intel i7 in here and explain this!! :P
Their order will be satisfied in no time.
Why I have to cutt off my head?
||A necessary sacrifice the sacred N demands if needed…||
But they don’t need our heads. Apple will just let Nintendo get their parts for create more Switchs and that’s all.
||Not for free, this isn’t Blisstonia…||
oh.
Wow, a parts war with Apple? I mean, I’m not saying it’s happening, but this could be a glimpse of the seedy underbelly of tech business. Dont even battle your opponents for sales alone, stymie their supply chain as well……
No this is just Nintendo tasting karma for being greedy fucks for undershipping product for all those years with other devices to drive hype. Now they actually need to produce product and having challenges since other companies, are producing similar product. This is about the time when Apple starts prepping their iPhone release for September. They already have the design, and mainly June and July, parts start getting assemble for August to do massive production. Samsung is in it still since the Galaxy 8 is doing work on the productive side
I’m going to quote sonic here:
Shut up.
Says the person who doesn’t even own a switch?! Are you 8 years old? Does you Mom have you parent controls? That’s why you can’t add. ?! Or you just don’t even own a nintendo product. Faker
they’re not actually fighting apple. the article is figurative in saying that they’re a shortage of parts right now, and that both companies are “fighting” to get parts for their products. e_e
When did I say they are fighting apple? Did you read the article or my comment. Dude you keep writing to me with failure. Lol
Nintendo is only competing with Apple for parts, but otherwise they’re different companies
It happens all the time in the tech world. Difference here is that both the smartphone makers and now a gaming company are competing due to increased demand from said gaming company. There’s no increased demand from the smartphone market as that’s already saturated.
This is why everything shouldn’t be made in one country
It’s not, but regardless some of these parts manufacturers have a monopoly due to either patents, design, or price so there’s nowhere else to go.

There’s enough Apple products out there to choke the Mechonis. Give the people what they want Fer cryin’ out loud
Clearly, people want the Apple products, or there wouldn’t be an issue.
Yeah sure. iPhone 7 700$. Nintendo Switch 300$. That’s a huge difference in price. Personally I don’t see many people with these iPhones or apple Watch ecc.
Not a fan myself, but point still stands: If Apple need to produce these products so badly, clearly there’s demand for it.
Not sure where you’re based, but here in Norway Apple owns about 50% of the phone market. They are especially popular when it comes to teens.
I’m sure apple would rather the Switch didn’t cut into their mobile market.
Interesting stuff… I guess it shows there is more to shortages than it being a marketing ploy, although those who believe that narrative will likely say this story is made up.
Will there goes the false understocking lie, turns out the haters just hate Nintendo because consumers want to buy. So they make up a false understocking lie, now they have to products with Apple products nearly a tie.
Word….?
I think she says. Why Apple now want so many parts when Nintendo needed as much as possible now?
I think this is.
Hehehehe
The window is clear?
Ah! The sweet, sweet sound of rhymes! You are forgiven, your wartiness.
Confirmed: Apple once again using LCD and is fighting for it xD
Makes sense since Nintendo is now focused on mobile gaming. They musta forgot the mobile market is huge. Even if they are targeting a different market, they still need the mobile parts.
I’m faxing at the Ryzen right now. Glad I held off though, with the i9, 12-18 core processors coming out in a couple months.
I’ll keep biding my time on my WiiU and Xbone and 3DS until I see where the game’s are later this year.
Perfect time for competitors to arise and offer parts more cheaply.
Does this mean no more Switches? Cause I want one for Christmas!
How would this mean no more switches? XP
Just, they can’t get the parts. But, I’m sure they’ll get Nintendo of Japan to help with this problem!
Just had to include Apple in the title to increase your clicks, just like the source article…
Will this make the artificial demand guys to finally shut up?
No. They’ll still ramble on.
Even if this is a problem right now, it doesn’t change the possibility that Nintendo could have created false/artificial demand before this. And since this issue is a current issue, it doesn’t say without a doubt that they didn’t create false demand with Switch before this.
