The latest Famitsu review scores are in and there’s a game included this week that many of you are looking forward to, Metroid: Samus Returns. The Japanese publication awarded the latest entry in the Metroid series a more than respectable 32/40. Metroid: Samus Returns was awarded an eight out of ten by each of the four reviewers.

  1. While obviously I wished it’d scored higher so more people would probably buy it, I guess there’s nothing I can really do about this so I might as well leave samus return’s sales up to fate and not worry about it so much.

      1. Yeah you could be right but, if it does end up not getting good enough scores to get loads of sales (and result in loads more 2d metroid games) then I guess that’s that and we can’t do anything but accept it.

I’m actually making a game heavily based on metroid fusion as its my favorite game period, so I might as well work on that rather than just worry all the time about sales y’know?

    1. Same here. But ultimately I think we should just try and enjoy the game and not worry about sales in case it doesn’t do so well. Why worry about what we can’t change? I guess all we can do is hope for the best!

      1. I agree with you, but would be so sad if this game flops in sales and they stop developing metroid games.

Personally i find interesting how many people say to love the franchise yet they don’t buy any game, look how Prime 3 performed on wii (it sold well) but with that install base of users it could have been better. Metroid deserves more recognition as i see Samus as one of Nintendo’s holy trinity (Mario, Metroid and Zelda). Let’s hope for the best.

I heard that AM2R fans are trying to boycott this game, i hope it is not true.
