We don’t usually get the UK charts until Monday but they have been released today. It was a big week for Sony with the launch of God of War which rocketed into the number one spot and is the fastest selling in the franchises long history. With regards to the Nintendo Switch there’s currently three games now in the top ten. Those games are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
- God of War
- Far Cry 5
- Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
- FIFA 18
- Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Fallout
- PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild
- Grand Theft Auto V
I’m surprised the first Fallout is still doing so well over there.
4 Nintendo Switch games. Fifa 18 is also on Switch :)
Of course God of War is gonna be high up in the sales list as it just came out. The real question is how long it’ll stay on top. And is GTA5 finally hitting it’s limit?
As long as you have swearing 12-yr-old little boys throwing their discs across the room in anger because they were killed by a 30-something adult, forcing their parents to buy them yet another copy, you won’t see it out of the top 10 anytime soon.
I think this is close to the truth. Every day, new kids are turning 12 and this is the game they want. Until a new GTA comes out, this is the game for angsty preteens who think they’re playing an “adult” game. And it’s not really their fault, hormones suck. It’s just funny when you become an adult and realize that being a grown up is actually wanting to play Mario Kart with your kid more than running over hookers. For some. I guess hookers and blow is appealing to a good number of adults too.
That’s amazing that those other 7 are all 3DS games, because it has that massive install base!! What? None of them are on 3DS? But, but, but, but, but fanboys all keep saying it’s got this massive install base! I mean it’s not like the install base is really skewed due to the multiple iterations of 3DS, like they made 6 different models so the average owner has 2 or 3 of them… Wait, the average owner DOES own 2 3DS systems? So, the install base is really HALF what people keep saying it is? No wonder its game sales are so low!
