Japan: Nintendo Labo Only Sold 30% Of The Initial Shipment

Nintendo Labo recently shot to number one in Japan upon launch and the Variety Kit even beat the long-awaited God of War for the PlayStation 4. What’s interesting though is that Media Create data has shown that Nintendo’s innovative new concept only sold through 30 percent of the initial shipment. This means that either it failed to take off in the way that Nintendo had envisioned it, or alternatively they are trying to have enough units to cover the next few weeks. It will certainly be interesting to see how Labo does in Europe and North America.

  1. I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be that big of a success anyways.

It’s mainly aimed at kids and unless you like building stuff then I honestly don’t see a reason to pick it up.

  2. I’m guessing Nintendo just made extra so they wouldn’t ever have to worry about it selling out, which is good. The important thing is that they were able to beat Sony’s Triple-A God of War game with LABO. That’s crazy. Wonder what will happen when they drop the Pokemon nuke.
