Rumor: An IMDB Listing Says Charles Martinet Is Voicing Mario In Wreck-It-Ralph 2

By now, you’re probably aware of Wreck-It-Ralph 2, the sequel to the 2012 original that is premiering in theaters on November 21st, 2018. The original had Bowser make an appearance, but Mario was nowhere to be found. Director Rich Moore later said that Nintendo was all for having Mario appear, but the team could not find an appropriate scene for Mario to appear in that wouldn’t take the spotlight away from the main story. There have also been allegations that Nintendo didn’t allow Mario to appear because of licensing fees. Whatever the reason, Moore has stated in the past that they have a “good relationship with Nintendo” and that he is all for Mario being in the sequel.

Now, an IMDB listing has been updated to include the voice of Mario, Charles Martinet, in the movie’s credits. IMDB is a site that is sometimes true, sometimes false. It is because of this, as well as Nintendo and the movie production team being silent on the matter, that this is just a rumor for now. If there are any further developments on this, we’ll let you know.

      2. I do not know if anyone already have provided the link, but if not I have it here:

It seems perhaps my memory didn’t served when it came to him outright saying “we have the rights already”, but if they have the permission to use Bowser, and were also looking for a place to include Mario, I do believe he was confident in that they could get the rights.

      1. I’m probably not going to see it while it’s in theaters. They have to put out better trailers in order to get my money, it has not captured enough of my interest yet. But they’re starting to with this Mario news. They have at least earned a rental from me after it comes out on DVD.

  1. Awesome. Hopefully this will offset the decision to cast Taraji Henson for whatever role she has (the theater I work at has had two movies starring her within the past 4 months and both actress and movies have been terrible).
