Capcom Says That They Have No Plans “At This Time” To Release Resident Evil 2 Remake On The Switch

Resident Evil 2 Remake was a big topic of discussion at E3 2018. Of course, it was only a matter of time before the topic of a Switch version of Resident Evil 2 Remake would come up. Indeed, Capcom brand manager Mike Lunn was asked this at E3. Lunn said that “no, not at this time. We just wanted to focus on PS4, Xbox One, and PC at the moment”.

  1. It’s best to not have any expectations of Capcom at this point when it comes to Switch. They keep talking about how stuff they put on Switch sells well but then go back doing crap like this. They just want to push all their old ports on switch and nothing else.

    1. This. Please capcom it won’t hurt you and will only bring in money. I’d pay a lot if I could get a 0-7 collection on my switch (not digital either) give in a resident evil themed controller and bam extra 70 right there I will spend.

  3. These devs really must not like extra money. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Just imagine a Switch with Capcom and Square Enix fully on board. It would be a slaughter.

    1. Let alone buying Smash bros. Your income helps make resident evil games for other consoles but the Nintendo consoles. So we need to do a petition for next gen Nintendo console and next Gen Smash to remove all capcom support if no Resident Evil titles are not coming to any futureNintendo consoles

  5. “At the moment”? Then I better see this game ported to the Switch in the Fall of next year then. Otherwise I refuse to buy anymore Capcom games in the future. I’m sick of this

  6. Well the game has been in development way before the Nintendo NX (Switch) dev kits were released so it makes sense, but I feel a possible port in 2019 might happen.

  7. I believe there was a news story on Capcom is working on porting over the RE Engine to the Switch. RE2 Remake runs on the same engine as RE7 apparently. Once it’s up and running, I’m sure it’ll be coming to the Switch, no “Cloud version” too.

      1. Yeah. I can see that happening. They’re testing demand in Japan with the Cloud version of RE7. Which I’m sure is part of a developmental phase for the engine.

  8. Why does this not surprise me? You’d think that if the Switch is really doing as good as Nintendo claims it’s doing, that no third party companies would be holding back on the Switch ports. Sometimes I wonder. I’m SO glad that I also have a PS4, so I don’t have to be a victim of this crap.

  9. Nintendo need to learn how to strategize. Capcom doesnt have any plans to release any Resident Evil titles but they getting some revenue off Super Smash Bros. This is just not fair.

  10. Us Nintento fans need to do a petition for next generation Nintendo consoles and Smash bros. To remove allllllllll Capcom support if no Resident Evil games are not coming to a Nintendo console. And mail the letter to Nintendo headquarters.

Because this isnt fair that Smash brothers franchise helps bring in revenue to build Resisdnet evil titles and capcom isnt giving back.

    Unethical, unfair and unprofessional.
They are going to be making a lot of money off a Switch game come Novmeber and not even supporting the Switch.
