Monolith Soft, the respected team behind the excellent Xenoblade Chronicles series, has announced that they are looking for first production development stuff for a new RPG project. Work has finally finished on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which saw its final expansion, Torna the Golden Country, released last month. Here’s what Gematsu says:
“The studio is seeking programmers (graphics programmers, character control programmers, and AI programmers), planners (level designers), technical artists (modeling TA, animation TA, and effects TA), designers (map modelers, in-game animators, character modelers, character designers for the artwork staff, and script event creators), and management and support staff (production assistants and event production management) to work on the RPG.”
That is a great opportunity for technical workers
Xenoblade Chronicles X-2 or another IP
I imagine it’s Xenoblade at the least. They even advertised all the Xenoblade games on the recruiting page.
Whatever it is I”m sure it’ll be awesome so I’m looking forward to seeing what this becomes.
I hope it’s the mature game they said they want to make
It’d be nice if Ninty gave them the go ahead to make an M rated game. It would be the first M rated 1st party Nintendo game made by an in-house dev team (least to my knowledge.) Eternal Darkness & Bayonetta 2 don’t count as a 3rd party developer made those so those are basically 2nd party games.
I believe Nintendo did make an M rated game called Geist for the GCN.
Oh yeah. Totally forgot about Geist.
