Nintendo caught the Harry Potter bug during the Nintendo 64 and the GameCube era and hoped that they could make a game of the much-loved series. Of course, it wasn’t to be, but Nintendo tried hard to acquire the rights and we can only lament what could have been with the Kyoto-based company onboard to create an action platformer of Harry and company. That’s weird. Nintendo usually doesn’t make licensed games. Also they prefer to have creative freedom and not have to follow a plot or guidelines.
Harry Potter (the movies and books) both matured with their audience. I don’t think Nintendo would have let the games do the same if they had exclusive rights to them.
