Reggie Talks About Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 For Nintendo Switch

One of the many announcements at The Game Awards 2018 which took place this month was Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. The game is exclusive for the Nintendo Switch and is developed by Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja. IGN had the chance to speak to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime to get some more information on the project as well as find out whether we can expect other games from the series on the platform.

It did. What happens in the world of development is you have companies who have positive experiences in working together, coupled with franchises being available, and the franchise owner wanting to do something with a particular franchise,” Fils-Aime told IGN. “And in this case, those three elements came together in order to create the opportunity for that game.

And we love that,” he added. “And we’re constantly looking for those types of opportunities. It’s the Team Ninja portion of Koei Tecmo that’s working on this. They’ve got a lot of skills, and it really helped paint a picture of what that game is going to be. We’re tremendously excited about it.

On the subject of the older games in the series coming to the Nintendo Switch:

I really can’t comment on that. That’s not been an area of focus for us,” Fils-Aime said. What we want to do is we want to make this game a great experience, and certainly with all of the excitement around the overall Marvel universe, we think it’s going to be a great opportunity.

  1. If Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order was exclusively on Nintendo Switch, maybe you could add Nintendo characters such as Link and Samus (since 2006, debuted for Wii but cancelled due to being presented on the PS2), and more?

  2. Problem is I have OCD. I have to play the earlier games first, and they took them off the market. When they were remastered I never bought them cause I was waiting for the Xmen Legends to get remastered first. But they never did, they just took Marvel from me too, so I could have nothing and like it.

    1. Not like they’re sequential in story though. Just numbered to give you a good idea of what kind of game it’ll be in terms of gameplay, framework, licenses.
