PQube has announced today that they have decided to cancel the Nintendo Switch version of Song of Memories. The company has cited technical issues for the cancelation but those of you who own a PlayStation 4 will be able to purchase the game on the 1st of February. Here’s what PQube via Rice Digital said:
“We regrettably had to cancel the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Unfortunately, Song of Memories can’t be brought to a functioning level of quality our fans demand on the Switch due to development complications.”
That’s a shame for people who don’t want the censored version.
PQube has said the game will come to PS4 as originally released in Japan so no censorship. Guess we’ll find out soon enough.
Except that censorship policy is actually being enforced in japan too. So I question how it’ll actually be.
They say technical difficulties that have nothing to do with Sony’s new censorship policy. Key word: say. Whether they are telling the truth remains to be seen.
That’s a shame. They are having issues with the PS4 version, too, so this isn’t too much of a surprise.
Every Japanese developer is having issues with PS4 nowadays
I need a direct right now
Any word on if we are actually getting one? It’s been rather quiet on that front..
Only rumours. But I’m confident about a direct in this month.
Game with art like this deserved to get cancelled lol Atrocious and generic looking.
Isn’t it a bit of a lame excuse? I mean it’s not a graphically demanding game like Red Dead Redemption 2 or anything…
Did anyone besides me go to YouTube to see what the heck this game was, and why people are talking about it being (or not being) censored? In fact, I’m still a bit confused on both parts.
The game is too graphically intense for the Switch.
You need a really beefy graphics card if you want to run it.
Also the A.I. is very sophisticated and puts a heave load on the CPU.
Here’s proof:
