The long-awaited remaster of the PlayStation 2 games Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD now have a firm release date for the Nintendo Switch. The bundle will be available on the 16th of April. The company tweeted earlier that Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age will also be coming on the 30th of April, so it’s going to be the month of JRPGs for Switch owners.
i guess were not having a direct
Why?
This game was announced ages ago, no reason to waste direct on it.
The above comment is not specifically aimed at this particular game.
It is a wonder of where the news of a direct is as it’s news that is hoped for right about NOW!
Im just assuming that they’re won’t be a direct because nintendo has been dropping news recently.

No trailer with a game just 3 months away?
It’s not like you don’t know what you’re getting. It’s a 5 year old PS3 game.
*a 5 year old remake of a 17 year old game.
??? Try 18 and 16 year old PS2 games. The remaster being 4 years old doesn’t change that.
They did it for Dragon’s Dogma, Dark Souls and the other remasters, videos contribute to create hype and sells products.
While I barely remeber X I defeinitely do not remember the other one. Also if they upgrade textures, etc. it would be a welcome improvement to see.
I know the games aren’t related so it doesn’t really matter but I assumed they’d be starting with VII and going from there, or releasing all the same day. Guess not
Hey I just got this game from Steam, very enjoyable so far.
So they are spreading out the releases of these Final Fantasy games coming to Switch? If it’s to help each one sell better, they are doing it wrong by having two of them come out in the same month.
Not a priority buy personally. Still have my ps2 version and beat it several times. Will collect eventually, and it’s a great get for the system.
I highly recommend FF X, just beat it on the PS4 and I liked it a bit more than VII. So far X-2 is off on a…. questionable start.
Girl Power, I assume?
Yuna being a pop idol with guns is very unfitting considering her character in X, and the dress sphere just seems like an excuse to putting the trio in cute outfits. Way too early to say anything about the story though.
Don’t get me wrong though, I absolutely loved Yuna in the first game, she became my strongest unit when I used spheres to get Lulu’s strongest elemental attacks, she had so much going for her that she could take on bosses all on her own. I also think she was the most interesting in the story, to me it felt more like her story than Tidus’s. I really hope I can overlook my issues with X-2 like the whole class system.
I felt it was a natural progression for Yuna. She led such a pious life because of her religion & eventually realized it was all a fucking lie to keep the survivors of Sin in check. With that religion exposed, she was finally free to follow her own path & not something set out by Yevon. Leading the life of a fun, giddy pop star, to me, is the exact opposite of leading a humble & quiet pious life. Not to say Yuna isn’t still humble but she’s finally free to come out of her shell a bit more.
A day one buy for me had the ps2 version back in early 2000s and it was a joy to play.
A must own for sure
Physical or a no buy for me same with 7,9 and 12.
Final Fantasy VII = eShop only
Final Fantasy IX = eShop only
Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster = retail and eShop
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age = retail and eShop
well no 7 and 9 then 10 and 10-2 and 12 are for me to buy then although porting them to a cartridge wouldn’t be that hard!
All aboard the hype train
