Team Cherry has disclosed that the critically acclaimed Metroidvania title Hollow Knight has shifted an impressive 2.8 million unit so far and that number is likely to grow. As we posted earlier, the company revealed their sequel to the hit game which is titled Silksong and it is heading to the Nintendo Switch. Those who backed Hollow Knight on Kickstarter will get the new game absolutely free, which is a nice gift for those who supported the title during development.
Thanks to the incredible support of players and Kickstarter backers, what started out as a tiny game jam idea has become a game bought and played by over 2.8 million people!
As a backer, your support made this happen, so you’ll of course be receiving your copy of Hollow Knight: Silksong 100% free.
Awesome! This is great news. Instead of some DLC pack, we’ll be getting a whole new game. It’s a steal. So much love this February. Thanks Team Cherry!
I think this dlc/sequel takes place after Hollow Knight, remember the ending where a shadow figure approached Hornet at the end, my guess is Hornet was captured by outsiders who aren’t from the decayed Hollownest. I believe this game is telling the story of what happened to Hornet after that.
So in other words, it’s a DLC-quel.
:)
Wooow . that’s incredible for the backers. So much content!
