Hello Games has been hard at work improving everything about No Man’s Sky with substantial free updates, the latest being Beyond. Game Informer caught up with Sean Murray and asked about a potential Nintendo Switch version. Here’s what he said:
“It’s super interesting,” says Murray. “I love the Switch. We’re obviously very focused on what we’re doing right now, but we have done a lot of work for PSVR to optimize the game. So I’d be interested to see what’s possible. But at the moment, we’re just very focused on what we’re doing right now.”
Thinking of getting NMS, the game looks beautiful and with the soon to be released Beyond content it’s going to boost the multiplayer.
It’s on sale through Steam righ nigh.
I’ll give it a shot 😊
The underwater Base building looks insane.
I could recreate SeaLab 2021…
I still can’t get over the thought that in just a few weeks, 0 were playing NMS on steam
Bought this game on sale but it’s just too time consuming haven’t really played on PS4. Would I be able to dedicate more time on switch ? Probly but who knows wt sacrifices would have to be made to get it on switch
Still have a bad taste from back when it launched.
Regardless of how you felt about this game when it first released, you got to give the developer credit for trying to improve it with free updates even years later. How many developers can say they’ve done that with their games that flopped? Not very many.
Which reminds me, fuck Squeenix for canceling the other 3 episodes for FFXV! I wanted to play as Aranea so bad but now it’s not gonna happen…
Credit? Maybe.
Forgiveness? Absolutely not.
Not when neither Hello Games or Sean Murray have actually acknowledged wrongdoing. There’s a reason they went completely radio silent for -months- after launch — they knew they screwed up, and knew that the outrage would subside just by doing nothing.
If they actually admitted that they did something wrong, that would be another story.
But if you genuinely think that distracting consumers with new stuff is all that needs to be done to make them forgive you for selling your game on glaring lies?
Then you’re probably Randy Pitchford.
(Not you, specifically, just… y’know. Just making a point.)
I didn’t pay attention to the political, for lack of a better word, side of things of video games at the time of the game’s initial release so I only really knew of the game being rather barebone upon release.
He knows he can’t make it run because he bragged so often how he always makes his own graphics engines. The game barely worked even on the most powerful machines, when it came out. If Murray ports the game to the Switch it’s going to look worse than ARK: Survival Evolved.
