New Sonic the Hedgehog Movie trailer features redesigned Sonic

The latest trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog Movie has landed and it showcases the redesign for SEGA’s spiky blue hedgehog. Due to a huge amount of fan backlash towards the original Sonic the Hedgehog Movie design, the team decided to delay the movie to incorporate a more accurate character model for Sonic. You can see the impressive results below. The Sonic the Hedgehog movie lands on 14th February.

Thanks to The Man of Brisk for the tip!

      1. But fans being the worst has nothing to do with it. This is a movie that people will pay to see, and no one wants to pay for a movie that can’t even stay true to the character design. But really, the arms are still a little too short and they got the color wrong. Everything else definitely looks waaaayyyyyy better tho.

      2. The design seems to be inspired by classic Sonic with short arms. I never even knew that Sonic had different colored arms till I saw someone complain about it and when I noticed it looked pretty awkward to me lol I prefer blue arms honestly

      3. Oh trolls don’t really care about what they’re saying, they just like causing a hailstorm and seeing the reactions. Chris Chan is a guy that genuinely gets upset. He’s a real character.

      4. “Out of tens of millions of people, I’ve seen a few people comment that it isn’t 100% perfect” is perhaps a bit too high of a standard to hold the internet to. With that many people, there is universal agreement on nothing in the world.

    1. I don’t really get why people are that much more hyped now. The story is probably more or less the same, actors are the same. It’s just a visual difference. The positive thing about the old design was that it would fit the “it’s so bad it’s good”-theme this film probably is going to be. This doesn’t really change anything, other than making a cool Sonic in a probably flat movie, and probably making it more “meh” in the process.
That sad I always looked forward to this movie, so I’m going to see it day one xP

In fact the problem was the design of Sonic. Now Sonic feels like the original Sonic.

  2. I don’t care that much about Sonic but this is of course way, way better and makes me think how on earth could a studio working on a multi million $ movie think for a moment this former design would be a good idea? Looks like a studio chef demanded the designers to do it so it looks more human or whatever.

Now it looks like Sonic, although I still think his whole body movement could look more squishy and dynamic and less like a human. Buuuut well ok I won’t watch it anyways.

  3. Honestly, I’m not too concerned about the design (it does look better tho) but that was a way better trailer than the first one. I wonder if they changed the script.
