UK: Nintendo Switch is the best-selling console in 2019 so far

Nintendo is seeing continued success here in the UK with its Switch platform and it shows no sign of slowing down or stagnating. Games Industry is reporting that Nintendo’s latest platform is currently the best-selling console of the year so far and if Sony doesn’t have any outstanding deals on hardware during Black Friday it could easily finish 2019 in first. Nintendo has sold 90,000 Switch consoles this month alone, which is very impressive, and sales have naturally spiked with the latest entry in the Pokemon franchise being released, Pokemon Sword & Shield. WithΒ Sony’s PlayStation 4 soon to enter its final year, the Nintendo Switch could take next year too with Sony’s PlayStation 5 not expected until Christmas 2020. After that we shall have to wait and see what happens.

Moving always in a different way. From what I heard both PS5 and Xbox are home consoles. Nintendo is focused on the handled market.

  2. I wonder what will happen after the later part of next year.
It would be great if Nintendo could release their next switch or console that would be on a par with the power output of Sony and Microsoft around about the same time, but more than likely the following year, And not about 2-3 years later with a power output that’s still behind.
I can’t complain about my switch though as i spend more time with it than the PlayStation.

    1. I don’t think you will ever see that again tbh, they’ve gone their own route that is not about having the most powerful console or competing on a similar power level and at this point it would be a massive surprise if they did. I doubt we’ll ever see a standalone box from them again, unless it had something really interesting that meant it needed to be like that, and I personally wouldn’t want them to do one. I love the Switch and would honestly just be happier with seeing more powerful versions of that style of console with added features and unique ideas.

Nintendo has taken their own path on the handheld market. I really doubt to see a new Nintendo home console.
