U.S: Here’s the NPD sales results for 2019 & the 2010s

The first NPD monthly report of the year also comes with an annual report. This year is a new decade, however, so some sales chart data has been shared for this as well. The entire decade was nothing but success for the Call of Duty franchise. What may surprise you is that there are a couple of Nintendo games that sold very well in the 2010s. One of them is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which charted at #19 despite releasing late in the decade, in 2017. The other was Mario Kart 8, which originally released on the Wii U, then saw massive success on the Switch.

As for the past year, multiple Nintendo games made it to the year’s top 20 overall chart, including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which charted the highest at #7. Luigi’s Mansion 3, despite having only 2 months to sell, did so well that it managed to chart at #18. Meanwhile, Pokemon Sword and Shield had even less time to make the year-end chart, and Pokemon Sword was able to achieve this by making it to #16. Here’s the chart data:

    1. Why do you think PlayStation All-Stars failed. On top of the fact the gameplay was tedious and slower than Brawl, all of Sony First/Sexond Party characters are at most B tier mascots. It didn’t help that Nathan Drake/Kratos were less known at the time. Plus, people didn’t really realize which PS1 games where actually 3rd party and so Sony had trouble getting the rights to the Childhood Nostalgia characters (mainly Crash/Spyro).
