Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition “did well” on Nintendo Switch

Xbox Game Studios and Moon Studios released the terrific 2D platformer Ori and the Blind Forest on the Nintendo Switch late last year and many of you are possibly wondering how it fared on the platform. Speaking to USGamer the team says it did well on the sysrtem, possibly paving the way for the sequel to come too.

A natural question for Switch fans is whether Ori and the Will of the Wisps will follow its predecessor to Nintendo’s platform. Smith says that Ori and the Blind Forest ultimately “did well” on Switch. “I think one of the big things for us is that everybody worked so hard on Blind Forest that we wanted as many people as possible to experience what we created. I think it’s exciting to just grow the family. Diehard gamers might have every console, and some gamers might only have one, so I thought it was a nice addition to add to a different pool of gamers who could enjoy the content we created.”

  1. It’s just got to come to switch. It will (fear not), but probably later.
I bet if it released on switch same time as Xbox, Xbox would probably struggle to keep up with switch sales of the game, so long as switch owners have experienced the first one and know all about it.

  2. Isn’t this the same studio that was whining like crybabies about not getting NX devkits back at the beginning of 2016? I guess that temper tantrum is over now that they got their lollies.

    1. This is them, but the tantrum was more about console manufacturers keeping hush hush about the specs. Nintendo just so happened to be releasing a console at that time, and refuse to even answer him when he asked about the specs.

  3. Glad to hear that. Absolutely loving this game. Bought it for Xbox and for the Switch and played through it 4 times and I´m looking forward to more playthroughs. One of my favourite Metroid-style platformers ever really. It got some deserved praise but it´s still underrated in my opinion. It´s pretty much flawless. Fantastic game design.
